Government health warning: if you are a serious Who fan please don't buy this album, it is truly dreadful. I wish they hadn't bothered. Sounds like someone turned the volume down, stole the guitar amps, mixed out all the bass and got in Dave Clark to replace Keith and Kenny.

Give it a few more listens, I wasn't overly impressed at first but it seems to be a grower.

I agree that The Ox and Moonie are sorely missed though, with those two guys The Who were the best rock'n'roll band on the planet, Moonie and Entwistle providing a bottom end as big as a Brit porn' model's thighs.

Ever since the dodgy Paedo sites Townshend 'visited for research' I have no desire to line their pockets which is a shame, as they were bloody good

There are some bands that make me think "I bet those guys are seriously crap in bed". And The Who are right up there at the top of the list. Give me The Stones and Led Zep any day.

I've read in rock mags back in the day (late 70s/early 80s) that they were a better "live" band.

You know his astrological sign (Taurus "The Bull") might have something to do with it. If you have the Isle Of Wight concert or seen it, when you see the part where he actually smacked the stew out of Keith that alone should've let you know what kind of man he is. He's also said he hated touring (John liked it) and the way he interacted with the audience sometimes made me wonder about him as well.

He's a complex bloke for sure and one of the best songwriters of the last fifty years. I met him once and he was cool, I actually bought a car off him!
