First Steve Irwin, and now the Hamster, all very sad. Hope Hammond pulls through, and he's fellow Solihull boy.

I think the problem was more driving that kind of car in the UK, on an air strip. These cars do go wide, and that's the reason why all those world record attempts are made in the Utah desert where your track is essentially the whole desert, so you never leave the track.

Either way it doesn't alter the fact that REALLY no presenter should be attempting the same things that the professionals they go to visit on their sections do for a full time living. Why would they even let him attempt 300mph ....surely just get some shots at 200mph....make some good film then shoot the professionals attempting the 300mph barrier. It just seems a bit irresponsible but then its easy to say all that when something actually HAS gone wrong

Either way I hope he gets well soon, the news hints to improvement which is good because there arents many people on tv who would get this level of support.

There is a word (or two) to describe people who do things like that but I had better not use or else I'll get flamed.
