In my opinion it's rubbish, bought it twice, been refunded twice.
Is there an alternative?
I am using Studio 8 on Windows 2000 but need to upgrade to Windows XP and Studio 8 for me on Windows XP does not work.
Someone told me that Sony have an editing program.
Can anyone offer advice please?

Sony Vegas is an exeptionally good editing software, you won't be sorry.

Download the trail and see for yourself.

Joe A is a Pinnacle user and has helped a plethora of folks out with it so you might want to contact him and see if he can help.

There is also Adobe Premiere and Premiere Elements. Both have their foibles but are both decent programs to use.

Avid have a free piece of software which I can't comment on as I have never used it.

If you have a Linux box there is Cinelerra

'what do you want the program to do?'

Phil mCc. I would have liked it to have just worked. It froze my computer as soon as I installed it. So I uninstalled, reinstalled then managed to get 2 minutes of footage downloaded from a tape before it decided to freeze again.
It is the worst program out. Complete crap.
The helpdesk was a joke, you were only allowed 1 phone call to them, then she could not understand me. I phoned the number I found one their website, a total waste of time. I phoned their sales desk and told them. Wasters!!!
Rant over.

Thanks everyone for the info. I am going to try the Sony Vegas.

I'm still on 9.4 whatever.. Was worried about vers 10 as I heard about a lot of probs but...

Since Avid took it over it seems from users that 10 is now stable, and you will need XP to run it properly. Kaz B's b/f JJ has found vers 10 ok since they published a few patches.
