actor patrick allen has died he was also the voice of barrat homes for years.
Re: patrick allen[crane]
I'm old enough to remember Crane. Allen's voice was superb and added a touch of class to many otherwise lacklustre productions. He will be sorely missed.
Re: patrick allen[crane]
His voice is featured on the smash hit single "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Provided the voiceovers for the British Government's "Protect and Survive" series of information films in the mid 70s. These were produced to inform the public on how to prepare for nuclear war.
I remember him from the TV series "The Troubleshooter" about the oil industry. All about an oil company call Mogul. Great TV.
I've just looked up his listing on IMDB.com - he has over 100 productions listed that he appered in.
I remember him in the film "Kidnapped" - from the Robert Louis Stevenson novel.
If you look at his listing - there doesn't appear to be any TV show from the 1960's, 70's or 80's that he wasn't in.
Dixon of Dock Green, Van Der Valk, UFO, The Champions, The Baron, Gideon's Way, you name it he was in it.
What a career he had.

I've always loved his voice.
I remember him in Crane, of course, also from the final episode in the first series of Blackadder.
