Face it, drugs are bad news despite what your mates will tell you. Crack? Don't know anybody into it but it doesn't seem a particularly good idea from what I've heard. Cocaine? Not for nothing is it known as "Instant Arsehole Powder." LSD? Fuck that! Ecstasy? A pill that fucks with the chemical balances of your brain?? No thanks, I'm happy as I am thanks. Heroin? Tricky one, on the plus side it has inspired lots of great music and all that AND it's always handy to know somebody who will do ANYTHING for money (I fancy one of those "Road Angel" gadgets but don't fancy shelling out ?399.99 for it...who you gonna call? Your local junkie ("Smackheid" in Scotland) for an instant reduction to...well whatever you feel like basically.) but things like death are a bit of a shitter.

Then there's weed. The times I've been bored shitless listening to one of my mates banging on about the joys of smoking weed. Seems pretty harmless apart from the sordid business of going about buying it which seems to involve lots of 'phone calls and texts to nastly little people in nasty little places. Too much bleedin' effort and a bit too seedy. Although, that said, I remember a particularly enjoyable Marillion concert at the Aylesbury Civic Centre in the company of a Euro Babe of note partial to a bit of the old wacky baccy (Note for Idoldroog. Another Euro Babe mention seamlessly woven in there) where, having enjoyed a puff or two to be sociable, the music seemed particularly far out...man.

I've known lots of people on it and as for women, it's an instant beauty waster. I've seen the most cutest, shapliest, prettiest of women go to waste on that stuff (crack) and it's like they look old before their time. It's a look you'll never forget.
