Or is this world cup dissapointing to everyone.
I am going to cheer on any of the African nations, What they lack in certain skills, they make up for with fitness strenth and heart.
Italy were a fucking disgrace, I can not comment on England, at least they have won, but jesus they could stop whinging about not being fit. Apart from Steven Gerrard, a true footballer to be proud of.
Ronaldo for Brazil looks like he works in a pie shop rather then plays football, And the French look liked they only had to turn up to win.
Or am I just a moany old cunt?

no, i think you're right mate, generally it's been fairly disappointing so far, and yes Italy were a disgrace. enjoyed Argentina on Friday, thought they were very good and Ghana were a breath of fresh air yesterday.

I'll say this about the Argies, they actually looked like they practice their freekicks, unlike Englad whose tactics seem to be "Let Beckham have a shot". For their first 2 matches I did think that the England team went in the the mentality that they only had to turn up to win. I really can't imagine england in the final, or even the semi, if they keep playing like they have been.
I would have expected Italy to win and go through, but as it is that group is now very open. If the Czech Republic and Ghana both win, then Italy are out.
I'm hoping France go out without scoring again though.
And you're right about Ronaldo, one forum called him a pub footballer. Fat, doesn't run, whinges when he's subbed. I think we know who ate all the pies.

Personally I think everyones off the mark a bit with Ronaldo's weight. He's filled out a bit since he was 20 thats true, but EVERYONE does that. Unfortunately for Ronaldo he doesn't have a good athletic genetic makeup on his torso...in short...saggy man breasts and beer belly would happen easily for him.
But he hasn't really gained much weight because I saw him the other day with a sleeveless shirt on and his arms were TONED. very little fat....His face is probably starting to age too and I think the combination makes him look a bit dodgy or...podgy.
His disinterest however...who knows

I agree with Marino and don't think he is being a moany old c**t.
The thing that is making me turn off the football until the actual match has started is the way that it is constantly being revolved around England, England and oh...England by the presenters of both BBC and ITV, in particular Gabby 'let's talk about England' Logan. It's like excuse me, there are other teams in this World Cup. I thought the half hour before the 2:00 kick-off was to talk about the forthcoming match and the star players, not to keep harping on and on and on (showing nostalgia film) about England's one and only trophy 40 flamin' years ago. Christ, they were hosting the f***kin' thing!! They've won nothing since and haven't come close (apart from Italia '90). In that time the likes of Germany have won two World Cups and three European Championships. France have won a World Cup and two European Championships. Jesus, let's put it to bed and give it a rest. Even Ruud Gullitt, one of the ITV pundits said he was getting fed up with seeing the goal that was/wasn't!!!
Even during half-time, when they are supposed to be talking about the first-half of a game, very little (if any) time is spent analysing the match. Instead they harp on and on about England's result against Trinidad that was three days earlier. They should be beating Trinidad!!! Why harp on about it??? And then, Gabby says, "Okay, we won't talk about the match (being shown) anymore, let's get the latest news from the England camp".
Terry Venables keeps referring to England as "we". Excuse me Terry, you did f**k all for England. Yes they got to the semi-finals of Euro '96 on the back of pure luck against Spain. England were hosting it so a semi-final place is to be expected. Terry never had to qualify for a tournament and he couldn't anyway, even when took over Australia.
There I've said my piece. I'll come off my soapbox now.

The BBC & ITV talk about England a lot? Well I never! English licence payers 'pay' for the BBC, English people purchase goods on the back of ITV advertising, and guess what? We live in England!
I'm goin out on a limb here, but if you watched Brazil v Australia match on spanish tv, in Madrid, then I'm guessing you'd get updates on the spanish squad along with interviews from spanish players leading upto the match, and at half time.
I also get pissed off with bringing '66' up all the time though, I wish they'd just let it lie now!
Come on, lets be fair! The other day on ITV's coverage we got, Gabby (Welsh), Towsend (Irish), McCoist (Scottish), and Leonardo (Brazilan). On the BBC we usually get, Gullet (Dutch), Lawrenson (Irish), Hanson (Scottish), and, Dessailly (French).
Lineker, Wright, Venebles, Rosenthal are the only regular english pundits. I bet our tv coverage is more 'cosmopolitan' than the rest of the worlds coverage!

Once again I find myself agreeing with Sam (somebody fetch me the smelling salts!!).
I live in Germany and - guess what - their presenters and pundits (who are German to a man, by the way) waffle on constantly about GERMANY. Who would have thought it?!! They also have news from the GERMAN camp!!!
Amazin' innit??!!
