lens choice?

Post by gp2003 »

Hi all,

Just bought a Nikon D200 body - any suggestions about the best choice of lens(es) to shoot adult content?

Longer lenses are better due to their compression factor, they a more pleasing result of facial features.

An 85mm - 105mm is a good choice, personally I nearly always shoot with a prime lens (50mm) - you'll have to factor these for digital as I shoot film.

Someone is bound to say different though............

Thanks for all the info guys.

I'm only a humble amateur tog phototaker, so not sure I can afford the F2.8 80 - 200 - any other suggestions?

Somehow I don't think I'll get bored with the D200 though, it's a great camera!

Now the good thing about the D200 is you can bracket up to nine frames which means easy HDR images.

True - quality starts with glass (unless you have a Holga in which case plastic is better)

GLASS GLASS GLASS!

I find 17-40mm for car shows and general use, especially if shooting in confined spaces like bedrooms and hotels.

I have a 1.6x crop as well so its more like 28-60 that i use for majpority of the stuff.

It is said that both love and truth walk hand in hand. But if the need is great enough, can we learn to love a lie?

No offence taken phototaker!

I already have a Nikon 18 - 70 which works pretty well to date with the D200 - just wondered what lens(es) the professionals would recommend. Any views on the 18 - 200 VR?
