Is it possible to buy players that will over-ride Copy Protection, or must it be done in some other way??????????????????????????
Re: DVD players
There are DVD players on the market (such as Goodmans) that can have the Macro protection switched off by a series of button presses, as per changing the region.
If you have a particular DVD player in mind then try this site:

Re: DVD players
This is where I got my panasonic dvd recorder from. It`ll play multi region and also bypasses enhanced region coding and macrovision as do all of the dvd players on sale there. Delivery is also quick as hell. I`d very highly recommend them
Re: DVD players

Re: DVD players
If you want to copy Macrovision-encoded material to another format for backup/personal use (*cough*), you can buy a SCART lead that removes the copy protection. I can recommend this one: http://www.sonel.com/
Re: DVD players
The SCART lead from is the cheapest I have seen.
As to players that can be macro disabled the details for many are listed under hacks at
Many tend to be cheaper brands too.
I recall some Mustek players, the Burnstar 2002SE and certainly some older Decca models can be disabled.
However computer based copiers like DVD shrink (freeware!) are the best way.
