Photog student looking for help

Hallo everyone,
My name is Russell Houghton
I am a mature student halfway through a national diploma in Photography down in Devon. I had a real career type job once but at 42 I had enough and moved family out west and took up this camera lens type stuff!
My course is great for many things and I have also managed to do some commercial work taking shots for web sites etc. But some areas are missing. My experience on studio/model area is low. I have good people skills, I am a professionally minded person BUT get me in front of a model and all my preparation goes out of the window and I make silly technical mistakes OR I can't get the best out of my subject.
I also have a desire to make some images that would be described as arty/erotic. But I can't imagine doing this until my confidence in a studio environment with naked or near naked people increases. By the way I am secure in my sexuality and being confronted by a nude women or man does not worry me.
I know this is a long shot but I recently spent half a day with a commercial photographer up in Hertfordshire and he helped me get a handle on standard commercial stuff. And I wondered if I could replicate that idea for the adult/glamour area of work. I would perhaps be intimidated to actually go to a studio and pay for a model and take photos - that would be my next step. But if I could pick someones brains, go to a studio shoot, sit quietly at the back I feel I might be able get my head around things.
I am not wishing to purely take images in the adult market and I genuinely believe that I will not threaten anyones else earning their living either now or the future. I have tried the camera club thing and it is just not me - sorry to the many skilled amateur photogrphers out in the world.
If you are or know someone who might be able to help then please contact me. If something can be arranged then I promise to bring devon fudge, clotted cream and some red wine as a form of recompense for people putting aside some time. Thanks.
