Watched a hookey copy of King Kong last night. Everyone was ranting and raving on about how good etc. Well we were all very dissapointed. The first hour is dross and the special effects look - well like computerised special effects.

was it a final release or early copy ?

I once got a copy of that film with Flubber in it, and the flubber wasnt in it, thy hadnt added all the effects.

I have a copy of blade 2 where the end fight has NO special effects, so maybe you dont have the final polished version ?

I went to pictures an saw it. I enjoyed it, though it was a little long, especially the first 1/3 of the film.
The best bit was the way the beast and girl bonded and became friends.
i gave up on dodgey dvd's ages ago, as a trip to the picys is a honest night out.
And whats the point of having a 50" plasma, dolby pro x surround sound, then paying ?5 for a bent copy!

PS - not really got a plasma, or surround sound.

Who's that bloke on here who's forever banging on about there not being any money in it anymore, budgets aren't what they used to be, and bemoaning the fact that no-one's hiring?

I'm sure he'd have a few choice words for you Dave, watching hooky DVD's and depriving the producers of their profits. I think his name was Dave too, now that I come to think about it.... !grin!

It wasn't my copy you vultures. It was my brothers and I totally agree with your comments about piracy. But what did you want me to say. No fuck off I'm not watching it cause of the principle ?

Yes, but it is a bit rich to complain about a movie when you have been watching an illegal copy.
