1. Windows breaks, OSX is bomb-proof(ish)

2. Mac is relatively expensive, Windows is cheap (Dell)

3. Lot's of software for Windows. Software for Mac's tend to be expensive and for graphics, video or publishing.

This just about covers it!

I went for an I-Mac..... LOVE IT!!!!

The new OSX Tiger is supposed to be BRILL!!!!!

So easy and smooth to use. PCs are clunky and slow.
Granted, there aren't the number of games to run on a Mac, but I'm sooo chuffed I paid the money for it!

With the imminent release of MAC OS X for the new Intel based Macs it seems that the OS X has been hacked to run on PCs without any problems.
So hopefully sometime next year you might have the choice to run your PC via either Windows or MAC OS.
I can safely say that I will be running MAC OS X as Windows is absolutely dire, it seems to have far too much third party junk that constantly causes conflicts with the operating system, add to that spyware, viruses, adware and driver issues that everybody seems to experience.
Sadly the new Windows Vista operating system slated for release late next year doesn't look much of an improvement, with issues over copyright protection and how much memory needed to run it.
If MAC OSX does find its way on to the pc as an operating system then Bill Gates will not know what has hit him, but I suppose he might have a few tricks up his sleeve in response.

Seen a great test on the Gadget show earlier this year in which Macs and PC's were tested. PC's came out on top for speed, price and performance, Mac's are closed architectured which means you cant upgrade them yourselves, and you have to take them to a dealer and they over priced. Even the top Mac with the duel processors are no match for the speed of a PC with similare specs, Gadget show run software that was more suited to the MAC and the PC wiped the floor with it.

My advice, Get a PC, spend a grand, get a decent security package, Mac's are over priced and underpowered, and tricky if not impossible to upgrade Similare to a lap top. Gaming also, games on the MAC are few and over priced also.

Forgot to add that I used to work a lot with Mac's, photo Journalism using Quark Express, never impressed by them, slow, the mouse and keyboard always felt flimsy, other guys in the office used to love them, myself there was nothing on the MAC I couldent do on my PC.

I have nothing against Apple but there is a reason that one of their biggest sellers is the Ipod.

this little snippet says it all for me

You know, you can almost predict what comments will be made to any Mac-Positive article posted here. Pro-Mac people will be delighted any positive press (and spend to much time crowing about it), Pro-Windows people will bash it with the same tired 5 year-old critisisms. MAC (Caps on purpose, I know Apple is the manufacterer) is going out of busynes, no one uses it, everyone shud use winDows because everyone uses it... MAC os crashes to much.... I have friend who died becase of Mac exploding....No gud games on MAC...Mac is crap, you HAVE to believe me cause I IT derectur that cant spel...Take your pick. OS/X is a great operating system. It rarely crashes (I've had one system freeze since switching with 10.2 Jaguar). There is plenty of first rate software available (with the obvious exception of games...get a frigging XBox for God's sake), and it's the first choice among creative professionals. If all you do is run MS Office...by all means buy a cheap PC. It runs it great. Want to do something a little more? Want to see what a next-gen O/S looks like? Try a Apple Mac. XP is not a bad O/S as long as you can support it. If you really know what you're doing and can keep a constant eye on your systems...go Microsoft. If you just want a computer that doesn't need to be constantly watched, that doesn't crash, that doesn't get worms or viruses (for whatever reason. I don't care if it's because there's not enough Macs to make it worth hacker's time or if it's because the Mac O/S is harder to hack. No successful Mac OS/X viruses equals relaxation.), go with Apple. Who cares what your particular preference is? Oh, and lastly, invest in a spell checker you dweebs! - by GuyDude
