Sorry. Just to correct myself. I don't know if this is the chap that r18dvdshop means but my powers of dection lead me to believe there must be some acrimony between to the two outfits. i could be wrong. maybe the gents representing both companies can clarify this better.

I wouldnt want to get into any mud slinging here but lets face it, my interests are going to be with the one that buys our titles.

I feel I should post on this thread although to be honest Im not sure I want to but here goes anyway.

I have no conclusive proof as to who did this to me and my site - all my competitors (r18shop included but certainly not limited to them) are potential culprits but the reason I have never made my suspicions known publicly is that I have no definitive proof (yet!!). Therefore I want to make it clear that I am not accusing anyone or any website of this act.

On another note yes r18shop bears more than a striking resemblence to my site - the domain name being the obvious one plus the pricing but also things like page content (why buy from r18shop and is it legal to buy and own etc) and also things the page meta titles etc but there is jack shit I can do about it. In many ways its a complete rip off of my site and my business and I guess in some respects you could say that imitation is the highest form of flattery or all is fair in love, war and business but, either way, there is jack shit I can do about it as neither of our businesses are legal so please can this be the end of this discussion?

If the mods want to delete this thread then so be it but I want to make it absolutely clear that I am not accusing anyone specifically of having done this.

Jay

A clarification from: Alex L - R18Shop.

On the contrary, if you do a search you will find that one of my early posts was to explain that because there were quite a few not so good suppliers around there should be room for at least a couple of very good ones! So this town is, I believe big enough for the two of us.

Most importantly, I am a straightforward and honest person, OK you have no proof of that at the moment, but lets hope time will tell. There is no justification for you to leap from the statement on Jays site that a competitor has caused him problems, to saying that I am the competitor, posting under the name of Alex L, who caused Jay the problem.

I did not!!!

Furthermore, because I could see that it would not look good for the various reasons mentioned, I emailed Jay to say as much and to wish him a speady recovery from the problem, He said that we had details of who had done the snitching and would be able to take action, so I was quite pleased that this would be the case. I also said that because I was the newbie I would try to avoid where possible using exactly the same studios as him and I have kept to this by adding studios such as Pumpkin, Double D etc in which he was not so interested, I cannot image many competitors being bothered to do this.

Yes the pricing is the same because I chose not to undercut Jays established ( best price on the web) and even called mine 'Fair trade prices' with an explanation of what I meant by this.

I have planned the site for a long time possibly even before Jay, but not have the necessary techie ability I have had to find lots of help in getting everything together. With regard to the name, there are only so many ways to say R18 and most of them are used, I had one email from a forum member asking about the situation and I told him that if he normally dealt with R18DVDSHOP then thats who he should stick with and that their site would be back on line soon.

So please do not make these huge assumptions not based on fact or be hostile towards a newbie for all the wrong reasons, I believe this town is big enough, but if the like of One eyed jack feel that there is no room on this forum for honesty and integrity then tell me, but dont lie about me just for point scoring.

regards
