All the special effects and great sets won't gloss over bad acting & frivilous story lines

The fact that the series has writers with a pedigree, and that they are all fans, should help. And nothing in it can be as bad as Colin "useless bastard" Baker or the awfulness of later stories like Paradise Towers and Delta And The Bannermen.

I'm remaining hopeful.

It's bound to have some Americanised Gee Dr kind of shit in it.

McCoy was all over the shop, but his version had possibilities---there was an ambivalence about his characterisation that none of the others explored (in a similar vein, Alan Rickman would have been perfect for the part).

We're getting some familiar monsters---Autons, Daleks, Andrew Marr---so it could be good. It pretty much depends on Christopher Ecclestone.

And if it all fails badly, then maybe the next try will be Viz's Dr Poo.

Can't say I'm too keen on Billie Piper and her massive mouth on my screen.
Her stone tablet teeth are fucking huge and would have druids worshipping around them given half a chance.

I wonder if the Daleks finally hover up staircases and manouvre around the bends with ease.

That Mcgann chap was pretty good in that one film a few years back. Paul McGann I think.

Yeah, shame that one was Yankified.
