I'm not sure, but I think it was 'Desdemona', recorded in 1967, when he was a member of John's Children.

But 'Desdemona' remains a masterpiece. I found this site, everything about John's Children that you might want to know:
I bought 'Desdemona' during my first (class) trip to London in 1967. The record is still in my possession.

Sorry i did ask a question ??? i think that's what these little funny squiggles mean ? most of the stuff before made it to the dizzy heights of number 44 in the hit parade . " from when he was in t-rex ?" "would that be Deborah ?" . JJ . Sorry but "Deborah you look like zebra" . You can't beat a song with meaning .

T.Rex started in 1967 (Bolan did not get along well with the other members of John's Children, so he left the group less than half a year after joining it). 'Deborah' (April 1968) was indeed T.Rex's first single.
