You have to question the sanity of companies like Macvities, they have to struggle for years to get a product to be easily recognisable like the Chocolate Biscuites always in a brown wrapper, then after acheiving that they change they rebrand it. The food sector is cut throat most companies would love to have more instantly recognisable items yet companies who achive this then decide to rebrand.

In the cut-throat world of biscuits, you don't want your product to seem stale.

To my mind, this entire planet could be improved 700% if every advertising executive was shot. Rebranding, buzz words---utter crap. And the money companies are prepared to throw at the gobshites is incredible.

The classic example of rebranding must have been Consignia.

my company was a classic, a year or so ago they decided to add another word in front of the current name. Cue millions spent on changing office signs/vans/stationary etc round the world.
But as the name had been around for decades no-one bothered to use the 'new' name.
So after a year they dropped it......cue millions spent on changing of office signs etc etc,
tossers, no wonder my pay rise was crap
