He,s dead.

Just thought I would get that posted before S56 did, I have not got a fuckin clue who he is/does/was, but from now on anyone who dies, no matter who, I will post it first, unless Stevie is at the hospital bed or ambulance chasing...

You're missing the other option......he's there with a knife in his hand.

That's a terrible thing to suggest, Holden.

But in case it's true, Steve---away and visit:

Dec
Baddiel
Skinner
Bush
Blair
Cilla
The cast of EastEnders
etc

If you are interested, he was one of the greatest band leaders
in the era of Big Bands (1930s/1940s).

The Artie Shaw band was up there with the best of the 'white'
big bands. He played the clarinet.

He married 8 times, including being married to Ava Gardner and
Lana Turner, which can't be bad.

He was earning 30,000 dollars A WEEK in that period, which puts
some of the soccer players salaries today into perspective.

No, I think you'll find that was Cole Porter's tune.

Though Artie probably covered it.

For anyone who's interested, I'd suggest a listen to 'Concerto for Clarinet' - the man was more than just a clarinet playing bandleader!
