If you've seen the story about the girl who had a 'secret' abortion without telling her parents last year aged 14, well the little chav girl has gone and got herself pregnant again.

In one of todays papers though, it says the 15 yr old father may be charged with underage sex.

Why do he get charged and she doesn't?

They can't charge him if he is a minor himself.

Here, here, EverHard.

Blame the middleclass ponces who read the Guardian and work in politics, journalism, and local government for this revolting Orwellian ?Newthinking?. It's totally anathema to any rational person who's reality is based on cause and effect and objective observation of the world around them. How can some no-brain scrubber lead a chap on, then be proclaimed 'a victim?? The cunts who are propagating this type of thinking need to be weeded out and subjected to a through kicking before they lead us all in to some politically correct (correct?) La La land, where nothing is as it seems, but we all have to pretend that it is, on pain of judicial sanctions

you wouldn't understand 'cause and effect' if someone hit you over the head with a mallet and you started talking sense.

as for imbuing yourself with a capacity for 'objective observation' - the sensitive mind can but seek sanctuary in the words of the ginger bard...

"o wad some power the giftie gie us
to see oursels as ithers see us!
it wad frae mony a blunder free us,
an' foolish notion"

Sorry woodgnome dude, my Scottish is a bit rusty. However, I'll address what seems to be the gist of your criticism.

Hey, I don't care how others see me, I'm not a politician, and I don't give a dam. I've reached the point in life where I've had some modest success - got a nice gaff and nice motor and I can indulge my vices pretty much on a whim. I have nothing to prove, no one to doff my cap to, so I feel I can now pretty well speak my mind. Don't you think that's a good thing? Don?t you think it?s a good thing when all those self serving politicos and company Yes Men are just spewing forth platitudes, telling you what you want to hear, dong their dammest to avoid upsetting you, anything but expose you to the uncomfortable facts. Whether I?m talking sense or not is matter of opinion, it?s subjective. Some in this thread may say I am indeed talking sense, some may take an opposite view (alright there mart?) But unless anyone can show that I have my facts wrong my opinion is as good as anyone else?s.

Hey dude, would I be right in thinking that you're just a teensy bit miffed 'cause I'm trampling all over some of your core beliefs?

Or maybe it's because the situation is a little bit more complicated, and kicking sense into a few "right-on" lefties would achieve nothing except the need to buy a new pair of shoes and hire a good lawyer.

It's bad enough that we have politicians who change policy depending on the tabloid headline of the day without people adopting the lowest common denominator approach to social ills:

Single mums? Sterilise them!
East European immigrants? Send 'em back!
Vandalism? Bring back the birch!

The world must be a much simpler place when you don't look for the story behind the headline and just go for the knee-jerk reaction.
