The racial abuse suffered by the English players last night was truly appalling & is quite rightly being condemned by the all the pundits but
I think that SVG will not be too disappointed to have the spotlight on this rather than the criticism he would have surely come in for after a very poor display by the England team & the petulant display by 'big kid' Rooney.

I think Sven got it quite right when he said
what happened on the pitch was a friendly and therefore not so important. What happened off the pitch is very important and needs to be addressed

Rooney is the most over rated player in England since Beckham - a few good touches here and there doesnt make a truly great player

Being half spanish/english obviously i was pleased with the result as i have always followed spain, but i myself was apalled by the crowds racial abuse towards the england players.
What surprised me the most was that i have never encountered spanish supporters abusing other players that way that play in spain and neither towards an english player in the past.
Most strange.

The one thing that strikes me about these talented individuals is that they are so young
We expect the maturity of a 30 year old and the youthful exuberance of a teenager...never going to happen all the time
Give Rooney some room to breathe otherwise you'll end up wit another Michael Owen....burned out by 25
cheers
