Pop Up stoppers

Post by mart »

I'm using the freeware version of Panicware's Popup Stopper. It doesn'nt have the option of selecting which popups to allow, like the BBC Radio channels etc. Does anyone know of a freeware one which gives this?

If you are on Windows XP then the latest Service Pack 2 has a pop
up stopper built in.

When a site tries to put up a pop up then you get a chance to allow
it this once, allow it from this site in future, or reject it.

If you do nothing you can just carry on.

I assume this only works on IE, have not tried any other browser.

Better still, try Mozilla's Firefox browser, which has a built-in pop-up stopper - which can be tailored to individual sites.

It's available free from

Try the free Google Toolbar at

You can turn popups on and off for individual pages and has a Google Search box which makes it very easy to find what you want.

Works a treat :)
