Not so much cheek as incorrect.

You eat out for practical reasons---to save on washing up. If you claimed that you dined out every night at different restaurants, when what you meant was alternating between McDonald's and Burger King, then she'd have a point.

I think it's when some poor unfortunate imagines themself constantly having sex with rabid devil-worshipping nuns, monks and the odd virgin or two in a small town in 17th Century France and then gets a few nails driven through various parts of his body, oh and then burnt at the stake.......otherwise known as the trials of Urban living. And dying. Or so it was alleged.
