Can anyone tell me how to alter channel 101 from BBC1 (West) to BBC1 for the Midlands?????????????????. The station is listed way up the channel listings but I want to be at 101.

I do not think there is any way of changing the Sky channel
numbering.
Try phoning sky.

Satellite channels as in Cable channels are pre-set in the decoder. I am sure they cannot be re-set without fucking up ALL the pre-sets

My understanding is that the default BBC channels on 101 and 102 (as well as the ITV region on 103) are set by Sky based on your postcode - there are quite strict contractual reasons why this needs to be enforced (apparently).
You could try ringing Sky and asking them to change it for you, but I suspect they won't be too keen (if, indeed, you get a call-centre person that even understands the question).
There doesn't seem to be anything in the assorted Sky Digital FAQs, e.g. , which suggest you can change your default region.
Not much help I know ...
