It should be banned, I like to smoke without watching morons stuffing their gaping maws with chips and spraying their grub everywhere.

Just wear a gas mask Stevie and have the cook prepare your food so you can suck it through a straw

Then everybody would be happy

Won't be long before the only place you'll be able to smoke will be at home IMO....the passive smoking brigade are well on their way and when a few more multi million dollar claims are made by bar staff for their lung cancer due to secondary smoke the nail will be well and truly in the coffin

Before you go jumping up and down about smoking think about what is in the air outside.Recent studies bewteen city & country life have shown the worst lungs are in the cities and thats not down to smoking just inhaling the air we breathe

cheers

Funny that the three studies of about 100 that support the passive theory get all the publicity, whereas the majority that find little increased risk get ignored.....and meanwhile air-pollution from factories and especially cars is overlooked. It's all about lobby-groups, not health. Try and suggest that we drive a little less, and they'd lynch you.
And as a smoker, I wouldn't defend my disgusting habit for a second- I try and be considerate to non-smokers (why is this the only addicition that doesn't get oodles of 'caring' support and therapy groups?), always, but this bias is hypocritical and unjust. I expect people who like junk food are beginning to feel the same.........

Totally agree with you Steve, I was in Ireland the first weekend of there smoking ban, and it was great being in a pub all night and coming out not stinking like an ashtray.
Also out there it didnt seem to affect trade much and not many people moaned about it.

Bring it on....

It's amazing that we non-smokers get accused of being killjoys while one selfish bastard can light up, take great pleasure in blowing their smoke around a room and affect dozens of others. But then that's half the enjoyment for the pro-lobby---sharing their filthy habit with the world. Paul's point is well made. It's quite disgusting picking up the clothes you wore on a night out and them stinking of smoke.

Hang, draw and quarter all smokers. Live, on television. Introduced by Ant, Dec and Shouty McCall.

Oh dear, the passive Dibblism is beginning to have its affect.
