The worst album you ever bought...

The worst album you ever bought, the real stinker, the one you'd take straight to the car boot sale if you weren't so ashamed.

Metallica's "St Anger" is my most recent clanger, an album completely devoid of tunes and the worst drum sound ever. Another howler was an album by a band called "Skyclad" who I saw support Black Sabbath and I was pretty impressed. Upon playing the disc I soon discovered that the singer couldn't pronounce the letter R which made listening to the cd somewhat challenging. I offloaded the Skyclad album to a second hand cd guy on a market but "St Anger" still sits like a big turd in my cd rack.

St Anger would be a pretty good "numetal" album by any other band, the only thing is Metallica arent any other metal band, they are probably the best metal band ever and I guess that says a hell of a lot considering they appeared about 15 years after the genre was "invtented"

The drums are shit tho, yeh.

For their history and everything about them, my worst is Cut the Crap by The Clash. Only one good tune 'This is England' amongst the whole set of tunes. Even now, ex-members 'distance' themselves from this.
The Great Rock & Roll Swindle, by The Sex Pistols is another.................apart from 4 tunes, the rest is tosh, utter tosh.

I suppose I should point out that I do actually quite like Metallica (Albeit in small doses) which is another reason I was so gutted when I bought "St Anger." I rate Lars Ulrich too, on the Black album his sound is like Bonham's....awesome.

Gracelands from Paul Simon from the mid eighties. One good song and all the rest is shit, but for certain reasons the music press had to rave about what a masterpeice it was.

Actually Metallica is one of the few metal bands I've never owned a t-shirt of (Suspect grammar there). In my time I've had Ozzy, Maiden, AC/DC, Kiss, Led Zep, Marillion, Pink Floyd and my Sabbath ones which I still wear. I've even sported ones from artists as diverse as Jethro Tull and Motley Crue!

Metal band t-shirts are "Cool" again these days for some bizarre reason (Fuck knows who decides what is cool and what isn't) but I wore mine whatever the fashion of the day. Funnily enough I was in Colchester town centre yesterday afternoon and there were legions of sixth form age kids milling around and most of them were wearing Slipknot or Marilyn Manson branded threads. I felt a kind of old school metal sophistication as I wandered past them in my Sabbath Volume 4 t-shirt like an old campaigner and veteran of many a metal gig.

Don't worry Rude i'll buy you a metallica t-shirt then you'll have a set of Metal greats.

I saw a kid no older than 13 the other day and he had a ' Misfits ' T-shirt on and then not long after a girl a little old had a Hendrix one on! What's going
on? Its must be some fashion thing that's doing the rounds again.
What's next a David Soul or Marc Bolan t-shirt just tooo look cool?
