Scanning for spyware.

I've just done a free scan which found 3 nasties. It won't get rid of them unless I subscribe. Funny how my other 3 regular scans didn't find them.
How many different checks should one do?
Paranoia, here I come.

Theres more bogus programs out there than there are real ones

I've run similar programs which mysteriously picked up soemthing the others missed...a ploy just to make you sign-up

Quite a few of the known BOGUS programs are listed at

towards the bottom

How paranoid should you be...not very if your running the best firewall, uptodate anti-virus and your email account has a decent spam filter

The one that was labelled as High Risk was kontiki. I think that got in some time ago via a Downloader.
It was found by XoftSpy.
My regular 3 scans are Adaware, Spybot S&D and Spysweeper.
I run ZoneAlarm, updated yesterday but my ISP isn't 100% efficient vis a vis Spam.

See my earlier post about Adaware. Whenever I run it AVG keeps telling me that its got some nasties in it. But when I scan it with AVG, nada!!!!
