An article in netguide.com.au says
that there is no way around reading Spam or the Spam folder where the filters send the rejected spam to if you want to be 100% sure you haven't missed a legitimate email

According to email monitoring company Return Path in the first half of 2003
19% of emails sent and requested by its customers never reach their destination...most ending up in Spam Folders

1 in 5 is very high by anyones standards

I regularly check my ISPs spam filter because it does catch some of my legitimate emails. On the other hand, it doesn't catch all the spam.

Which proves that there is no way of avoiding Spam and the best solution is just to run with 2 addys

1 for the net and 1 for friends

When the spam starts to flow close the account and open another-resistance is useless

Even programs like which if the figures are true stop 99 percent of spam dead in its tracks don't and they are open to malicious abuse by users
