Fashanu almost single handedly ruined Barry Town FC from South Wales.

Full of promises; full of bullshit.

Former footballer John Fashanu has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum
to a woman who worked for him as a maid.

Genevieve Bassene, 24, told a tribunal that she often worked 117
hours a week at Fashanu's home in Finchley, north London, but was
only paid ?300 a month.

She claimed she was owed an estimated ?40,000 in pay by Fashanu.

The former striker was set to appear at Watford employment tribunal
but his lawyers reached a confidential agreement with Miss Bassene.

Miss Bassene, who worked for the Fashanus for nearly two years, had
travelled to the UK to live with the family in August 2001.

She said she shared a room with their six-year-old son who often wet
the bed and would scream at night.

After the short hearing Miss Bassene, who now lives in Wetherby
Gardens, south-west London, said: "I am happy it is finished, the
last few months have been very stressful for me, I worked very hard
for them and I'm fine now."

Tribunal chairman Peter Hunt said if Mr Fashanu complied with the
terms of the agreement and paid what was required within 28 days the
application would stand dismissed.
