Cancelling Sky Digital

Hello. I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription to Sky as basically I'm fed up of paying ?19.50 for 24 hours a day of Changing Rooms (will miss the music channels though).

What I'm wondering is what will I be left with if I cancel everything? Can I keep the digibox (had it for 4 years now) and will I still get the 'non subscription channels' ie terrestrial TV and will I still have the electronic programme guide or will I just have a blank screen?

Of course I'll phone up Sky to find out more but if any of you guys could help me I would be better prepared!

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

As I remember it, you get to keep the box after one year, and you can receive the free-to-air channels.

(I could be wrong though)

you'll have to be strong because they try and bribe would-be deserters into staying with them, by offering a 'pause for reflection' reduced subscription rate of around ?12.50pcm for 3 months.

if you can resist their blandishments though, this is what you'll be watching:

Its all the programming that pay TV won't buy

I wonder why?

To think Australia is a minimum of 2 years behind everybody else

Makes you want to get a real life and ditch the TV

Free to air or not

Providing you canel according to the terms of your contract, you will get to keep the digibox and dish (they are hardly going to come round and take it of your house wall etc), and you will be able to view some free chanels, sky news, all those shite shopping chanels, and some others, the best thing though, is to buy a daowoo (sp) freeview box, you just buy the box ?49.99 from Tesco, and it,s a piece of piss to install, and you get a rake of free chanels, and digital radio,m all for nowt...no subscription.
