Thank fuck that episode is over. I, for one, was SERIOUSLY pissed off with all the coverage all pissing week, especially the final flight coverage yesterday.
It WAS a lovely looking plane, granted, but just for wealthy passengers who had a spare ?8k for return fare to NY.
Noisy thing as well, I bet all on the flight path raised a few beers at its demise. I would have!!

To me, its another example of a great and beautiful piece of fine engineering that the bean counters have scrapped.

It also reminds me of a documentary I saw about 15 years ago about its developement. The British and the French as usual couldn't agree on anything even years after it was finished. First a guy from British Aerospace said " Well the French designed the ashtrays and the door handles and we did the rest. " At this, the French guy in a comicly indignent accent replied " Ha ! The English poured the concrete for the runway while we built the Concorde ".

Well I'm going to miss it flying over my house........was great to see it so high in the sky............truly a great piece of engineering.

if i recall rightly its 1st flight was 1970,then the london to ny in 76 it cost a thousand pounds which was a lot then.

how can you be SERIOUSLY pissed off with the coverage? was your tv stuck on the one channel all week? As most seem to agree, it was a great piece of engineering, a great acheivement for man, a bit like going to the moon.
Just because it was only for the rich doesn't make it a bad thing. otherwise, lets get rid of Rolls Royces, Champagne, Rolex watches etc...
