Did anyone catch the ITN news at 12.30 p.m lunch time and did i hear i hear right that the newsreader said at the end of the news that Robert Palmer(singer)died in Paris with heart attack(It was news that was coming in) (Or is it me going mad,i had one of those days today where i all over the place)It alright i was on the phone at that time from some dozy person trying to flog me products over the phone.

ive only just heard he was only 54 robert was also a member of the alan bown set in the mid60s ,then vinegar joe[with elkie brooks b4 going solo]

Always remeber him for that Addicted to Love Video. Massive shock and will be sadly missed.

Agreed. She Makes My Day was another classic. He had a lot of good stuff, rather overshadowed by the success of Addicted To Love. Can't find the CD at present, but what was the name of the song ripping the pish out of Olivia Newton-John's Phsyical: "it's her idea of fun to take it on the run . . . "

Power of Love from Back to the Future was by Huey Lewis and the News, although still a great song in its day.
Palmer was, however also in The Power Station (think that was the name) with some of the boys from Duran Duran, can't remember them being too successful though.

The local radio staion here fucked up by saying it was Robert Plant, and then apologised.
