ditching pics

Anybody know how to clean one's computer of pics before selling it?
I gather just deleting Internet explorer history isn't enough as it stores all pictures viewed elsewhere. not particulary interested in buying one of these advertised software packages that claims to erase all pics you've ever viewed, just want a pointer as to where on the PC these files are stored.
I'm running an Apple iBook, OSX
