Diallers / pop ups nightmare

My PC has recently become infested with pop ups and pages that transform into unwanted pages. Also diallers seem to be involved. The last message I got was from something called "Fuck-Site" saying I had been accessing it for 1 minute and had run up a charge of ?1.70.

I have Norton anti-virus and Emerald Pop Up Stop but they're useless against this. There's got to be a way of stopping this virus (or whatever it is). It's becoming a total nightmare.

Thanks to both of you. I actually had two 'hosts' files - one a standard file and the other a SAM file. I deleted them both. Hopefully that's OK!

I have asked if the links I posted a while back can be put into the database this should help a lot of people with these problems, the feedback from the mods has been positive, so hopefully there will be a reference to some tools to eliminate these problems, if it is included in the database I will update it with the latest programmes as and when, and test them first......

this has got a pop-up stopper on it, I've only just installed it so I don't know if it's any good.
