Ah, the 90's. I'm just getting nostalgic for the old days of satellite porn. Remember it? Sending off for 'The Adult Channel' smart cards that gave you access (for 6 months) to some of the best, though heavily censored porn from the UK and the rest of the world? (Albeit shorter 'frame-cropped' versions)

Back when dial-up internet was young and Youtube-like streaming video sites were a good 10 years away, that's all there was. (Except, of course, for very expensive 'continental' VHS tapes from 'specialist' shops!)

The funny thing is that even with all the streaming video sites around today, I can find only very few of the shows that used to come on 'The Adult Channel' back then. I've found a couple of episodes of 'Class Action', but things like 'Wet T-Shirt Exposed', 'Nurse Nellie' and 'Dr Anna St.John' are still very hard to find.

I remember one that used to come on called 'Real Wives'. A very attractive, Scottish brunette used to interview women that we were assured were 'real' and not professional models on a sofa (I think she used to refer to it as the 'sofa of sin'). She'd either get them to take their clothes off slowly, bit by bit, during the interview or wait until the end. I know it sounds very softcore (and it was) but to me in the mid 90's, it was the sexiest thing I'd ever seen. The lady interviewer was interviewed herself in one episode (I think by old Deric Botham), and she actually stripped off saying something like: "I wouldn't expect the wives to do anything that I'm not prepared to do myself!". I wish I still had the VHS of that episode especially. I don't remember what her name was but I remember really fancying her at the time. I remember that sometime later a show started called 'Reel Wives' (notice the different spelling) on 'TVX', but that was different. It was a home video show hosted by the lovely Alison Brown, as I remember.

I recall another show called 'Baronesque' that came on 'The Adult Channel' as well. It was hosted by a sexy red-head called Sharon Baron who'd introduce clips that looked as though they were taken from other adult British movies and programmes. I remember one clip in particular that featured the gorgeous Teresa May! All very softcore again, but memorable. (At least they were for me)

I could go on and on about the shows back then, but does anyone else have an Adult Channel programme that sticks in their memory, or who can fill in blanks on some of the ones I mentioned? Does anyone know if any similar programmes of the era are available anywhere?

I was a massive fan of the presenters during the late nineties such as Laura Jones, Elen Cole, Sammy Jayne, Emma Pierce, Shelly Goodair and Cathy Barry. There were some great shows such as Star Whores, Presenters Passion where each week one of those me ruined above would shoot a B/G or G/G scene, Pumpin Pussy and then soft versions of a lot of Pumpkin productions such as pornomedics, AER, Saturday Night beaver, The Writer, Desires. All great stuff and to finish off all the Viv Thomas stuff.
Wonder what happed to most of those above?
