I am sad to see Nuts close, ok I didn't really buy it that often but I feel the modeling side of the industry is dying. The new models will no longer be appearing in magazines looking their very best but instead will be on webcams and taking selfies of themself in their rooms. Sad times.

This is 'Off Topic' is it not?

Anyway, when I received the first free copy via the postman about 10 years ago, I had a quick look & threw it away.

IMHO, a little bit interesting but mostly shite.

To be honest I thought all the lads mags were shite. FHM, Zoo et al.

I had a quick look at them when colleagues left them lying about at work.

Absolute shit.

What turned me off were the pictures of gory injuries, people with their legs cut-open and the like.

Who wants to look at crap like that?

I?m quite happy to look at attractive young ladies with their kit-off, but where does that fit with pictures of poor unfortunates with their intestines hanging-out?

I?m glad to see the back of all those magazines.

None of them were a patch on Mayfair, Penthouse and the like in the 1970s and 80s.

I feel sorry for the Photoshop artists. Where are they going to ply their plastic fantastic model look now.

Oh I dunno. I quite like those mags TBH. Nice girls, well shot.

Seems the effects of the mass availability of rock hard free tube content reaches far and wide.

Supermarket chains lining-up to say they won't stock them, or will only stock them if they tone-down the covers / seal them in plain paper envelopes.

Co-op led the campaign but other chains jumped on the bandwagon.

That's added to their problems.

Yeah, I never understood the gory pictures. They put them in for people to gloat over. I don't think that's right.

I always had a problem with the idea of this is what defines a lad. Football, booze, sex, birds, violence, drugs. I was a lad but that was a million miles from me.

I'll miss the photoshoots they ran. Generally excellent quality and really great girls (particularly if, like me, you're into big boobs).

Hope Zoo keeps going. Bottom line, of course, is that the "Lads' Mag"'s target market now largely gets what they want online.
