Just wondered your opinion, as quite a few are looking back to the 70s & 80s where everything was much tamer & more erotic ( in my humble opinion ), do you think the levels seen now have taken a lot of the imagination & eroticism away?

In the 70s or 80s, a flash of boobs on The Sweeney or Minder seemed magnificent!!!

I do personally think it HAS gone too far, nothing is left to the imagination & sometimes imagery seems quite ''brutal'' in its application.

Or am I getting old!!!!

It could largely be down to the fact that many making porn these days dont have a single creative cell in their body. That, and a total lack of discernment on the part of the consumers who will accept just about any old tat.

Yeah, I feel the same. In general, there is very little erotic or sexy adult content coming out of the UK and very little demand for less explicit stuff (there are exceptions, the obvious one being Only Tease)

The majority in the UK and to a fair extent in the USA seem to want poorly shot, artless, amateur, ultra explicit stuff. Obviously, they who hold the porn buck, call the tune, and you cant knock that, but a tour round the Vintage Erotica Forum shows up most modern content for what it is. Even the "readers wives" type content back in the day, was classier and more nicely shot.

I do think there is a gradual increase in interest in the classier stuff though, as seen by the emergence of higher budget "Art Porn" style content, started by X-Art and now embraced by Met-Art (Sex-Art) and Femjoy (Joymii)

Having seen some of that russian porn on tube sites(possibly a tad more exciting that watching paint dry) i think brit porn has a lot going for it. But i agree the few hardcore brit porn movies that were around in the 70s and 80s were more erotic.

To be fair, if as a producer you want to make DVDs (legally), for example, the cost of adhering to the nannying and onerous system of censorship in this country is so high that you cant afford to spend too much screen time in the way of exposition other than, if you are lucky' 'Fancy a fuck?' 'OK'.

I get that, but for me everything seems way too ''brutal'' & way too much is shown, in the 70s / 80s it just seemed more sexy, sensual & erotic, even ''Debbie Does Dallas'', if it were shot now would have the guys throat f*cking her until she vommited & use a whole range of derogatory & negative words towards her.

I do not just think it is me getting old, I genuinely think it has gone too far & is getting more & more extreme & that is being accepted as the norm. Porn is too aggressive now.

I think you are right, porn is in its death throes and porn producers can only think one thing, "Doh are sites ain't makin' money no more, der, let's make it all harder, yeah slap the birds around a bit, lets abuse and use 'em, thats wot the punters want!"

I've never understood, why porn is so brutal. What guy having met a nice girl in a bar would take her home, give her a drink, have a few laughs, get her into bed and then jam his dick in her mouth and scream obscenities at her, "Suck my fuckin' dick ya fuckin whore!!" I'll tell you what sort of guy, a PSYCHOPATH! But this is the norm in alot of porn.

It is because much porn is made by men who actually HATE women, they hate them smiling, they hate them having a personality, they hate them being funny. Women are there to be used and abused by one of their gorillas, period.

Jimslip.com and Larasplayground.com have always been on the very soft end of hardcore. Lot's of dressing up and mucking around, lots of girls smiling (Which is my thing) and both the sites are growing.

I have no great idea why this is happening, but maybe it is because the psychotic sort of guy just gets his stuff from tube sites for free and the guy with more normal tastes just expects to pay for his porn. Who knows?

Ill second Jimslip - its a nice style and non threatening - gone off the typical yank porn and you can see that they are going off it aswell with the emergance of american sites that rip off the high end euro sites. x-art and the like all celebrate females and dont have the violence and hatred that seems to be the norm. Like who wants to violate a woman ? its about the union and getting to play with someone stunning, yeah and if it involved a good healthy facial then why not..... thats about as risque as i like it.

Going back say 20 years when the aim was to make a video around an hour long there was the build up just as if on a date in real life.
Now the main market is much shorter video lengths for download the trend is to be into the 'main event' by 5 minutes if not sooner. Then as you say all too often the objective seems to be to (ab)use the girl in every way rather than seeing all enjoying a pleasurable sensual session.
