Recent Ben Dover Efforts

The last few Ben Dover features have become increasingly unsavoury, unpleasant / unerotic affairs. Maybe he's just become jaded through over exposure (starred in hardcore Color Climax productions as early as '79 and 15 years solid since about '92 doing his 6 or 7 flicks a year) It seems he's been trying to push the envelope in terms of extreme content to see what the bbfc will let through. The strange thing is that the bbfc with all its strict rules doesn't appear to really place any emphasis on overall tone - so it the film can be very exploitative / degrading and get through (because it doesn't contravene any criminal law or guidelines - like a bunch of robots with no cognitive functions following binary commands -YES or NO!!). The weird thing is that when you go to Europe and there is much more "extreme" legal content that no way would get past the bbfc but is widely available in sex shops and video stores in say France and Germany this stuff is generally far less offensive as the participants seem to be fully into the activities be it watersports or hard S/M. Any comments?

Far it for me to dare comment on the great works of, "The Prince of Porn", but I would say, (Most humbly and with the greatest of grovellingness) that moving to extreme style abusive material, doesn't necessarily mean the path to success.

I think this stuff appealed to the original, "Porn Junkie" who is never satisfied. The new swathe of consumer seems to want a more lighthearted approach to erotica. Strange as it may seem, they don't relish seeing girls kicked about, vomited on and spat at, I'm not suggesting that "His Holiness" does such things as I haven't seen his works for many years, only some American shyte, which looked like the direction had been handed over to Peter Sutcliffe.

My opinions are sandwiched firmly between Mr Slip and the fella in Blunderland.

I wont shoot extreme for the sake of it but if its what folks are into in fron tof my lense and its coming purely from the heart of enjoyment then so be it.

All this extreme stuff being about moving with the times is not true at all. The reason the market got harder, faster, stronger is because producers were simply looking for that edge to help sell their product in a jungle of a market place selling the same thing.

At the end of it all, blokes ultimatly want to see dick in fanny, a bit in bum occasionally (depending on your preference of course) and a pay off cum shot.

Everything else is a variation on that theme.

Again. I agree. That goes for all of us in theb porn game. Even with me at Real Couples. I like to think that people see my sites as a bit like an ice cream store. Its got a variety of flavours vanilla ( a flavour that never goes out of fashion) to tutti frutti.

I actually do research before I even do a shoot these days to find out what angle i am going to take before I even turn up since I shoot and edit all my own stuff, even I have to keep my self amused and inspired.

But again you are right. producers should think out of the box a little and you dont need to cost big bucks to do so.

Having read all of your knowledgeable and comments (I bow to the masters), im only speaking as an outsider who just enjoys watching porn.

Is there anything else in the porn industry that can be said to be a revolutionary film or idea that no has ever thought of before?

It seems to my very limited knowledge that virtually everything that can be done sexually, has been done.

As for my tastes, i do like the earlier gonzo films where the stars were true amateurs, and not the 'proffessional' amateurs that are used these days.

GGG Rubbish ? Not if you are into dark, dungeon type , pissing, multiple cum German type porn.

In a few months time, everybody will be saying there?s too much comedy porn around, bring on the POV/Gonzo and forgot all the crap talk and badly made comedy.

LOL Androm these things go in cycles. It all comes back to the same thing eventually.

Stevie q you may well be right about it all being done before but the bit that makes me laugh is when you hear people pitching their ideas tossing in that it hasnt been done before like they are reinventing the wheel and they really believe it. The irony of it is lost on th epunter who cares nothing for the egos beyond his own persuit of something to watch and maybe bash one out to.

Obviously those people havent used the internet to research...and even if it was a bit different it comes back to being good old boy / girl porn whether its shot on a sofa in Birmingham or a helicopter flying above Las Vegas (ok that one hasnt been done that often).

Lets face it..Who really cares?

No matter how good you might think a movie is, its all disposable anyway. Why else do people keep churning out the stuff. How much porn does the world need?

In fact the industry is drowning in a pool of its own making and the tide is rising fast.

Words of wisdom, Terrance. Words of wisdom. We can only pray that someone soon pulls the plug on their fetid pool.
