Ive just been watching some of Bendovers early dvds.
Am i alone in my thinking, that his earlier films are far better then, than the stuff he is churning out today?

My reason for saying this are.....His girls were more varied. As in age, looks etc. here are a few names as examples....Gilly Sampson, Wendy Cooper, Wendy Taylor, Linda Liegh to name a few. I know they've seen their 30th birthday, but they were pure class.

With Bens movies today, all he seems to think is that we just want to watch young blonde girls (they must be 18/19 yrs old) getting their ass filled, his obsession for anal is unbelievable, and very boring (sorry about the pun lol). In his earlier works, you only ever got anal ocassionally. Again, its about variety, but not in his lastest films.

But my point is, is his work getting dull and predictable?

He even uses the same guys time after time in his films now, where before in his older films, he at least had a variety, where today its always the same faces (or cocks if you prefer).

Im not saying that im right (its just my view), but would like to know the views of other Bendover fans.

Definitley, nothng compares to the early ones, I wouldn't even bother with the stuff that is "new" footage, I remember in the early ones you didn't see his face much either, there was a bit of a voyeuristic feel to them, I think recent stuff is only saved if the female talent is hot, which lately it isn't (bar Miyah in the XXX Factor 2) & Elle Brook In "The A Teens"

Well I 'll be a bit cheeky and give my take on this as I'm sure like many other producers of late he probably hasnt got time to come on here (or probably wont, who knows?)

I would say I can identlfy with what he is doing by catering to the US market. I reckon its probably because they want it younger, harder, faster, nastier.

I havent seen his titles of late so cant really comment but it seems a lot of producers are catering to market forces or the demands of their US distributors

I'm sure a lot of peopel watching porn do so like they are watching tv: surfing or fast forwarding to the best bits that turn them on,have a wank/ ogle whatever then onto the next juicy bit. I think this is a habit of the MTV generation which I find annoying which is why i hide the remotes when my friends come around as they flick channels so fast it gives me a frickin headache.

I notice people more my age dont do this as much.

As for using the same guys, if I was shooting a regular series I would stick to the tried and tested. If you bond well, your blokes will know how you work compared to getting new guys in. You only have to look at past pairings like Roco and Buttman to understand how this works.

As forthe lack of ladies in their 30's, the americans would only group that altogether under one banner: MILF

Yes it seems porn is becoming conveyor belt produced and sectioned into categories these days but that is more sign of the times of how the business has become, thanks to the internet.

The plain truth is the Earl's recent output is quite obviously aimed solely at the market on the other side of the pond. The obsession with the barely legal blonde types is a sad come down from the sheer variety of the older days. Wendy, Barb Molyneux, Amanda White, Shannon, Natasha, Sabrina etc etc.

Also, IMHO, Marino was largely responsible for the popularity of his earlier stuff too.

As OEJ says, after some time, the successful producer can afford to live off his past fame and output, without necessarily catering for the fan base that launched his name. And it is true that the Yanks very quickly classify any actress older than 25 as a MILF. (Which is just another Freudian hang-up on their part.)

The one consolation is that there is a HUGE archive of Ben's older stuff out there, so one can give the new Yanks-targetted junk a miss. I certainly do.

A lot of the comments on this thread are true of uk porn in general and not just Ben Dovers work. The "less is more" cliche seems very apt in the case of Uk porn. I remember not so long ago when hard core porn was a lot less obtainable, and to get hold of a Ben Dover vid and see an attractive British girl perform sex acts for the camera was a real thrill. Now the internet and relaxation of the obsenity laws has, in a paradoxical sense, almost taken away what was the raison d'etre of buying these works.

Yes fans of adult work have never had it so good in terms of output and access but to me there is just so much now that the excitment has gone. Ben Dover releases another dvd...so what! In the early days it was fun, something different, now its a conveyerbelt of the same stuff produced for business reasons and not for the fun element. Shame really.

I'm a big fan of anal but have gone right off Ben Dover there is just too much of him in all his scenes and the whole cheekey chappy thing is just boring.

Also goes without saying that I think there is far too much self wanking, these girls are super hot and if the guys need to tug themselves off they are in the wrong business.

Too many "crap jokes were being made on and off screen" I don't want to hear a load of essex boys making in-jokes about "tupperware". I think it is this kind of thing that ruins a lot of Ben Dover scenes.

I would imagine that a talented director is able to bring out the best in his talent and would know when to let the scene flow naturally and when to direct it, there was one scene in Ben Dover's "school of cock" with Roxy Rare where she told Pascal to fuck her harder in the ass (this was super hot) and very annoyingly at this point Ben told Pascal to do something else.

Also subscribed to his website and was very disapointed, I couldn't find half the girls on the front page in the actual site and big sections of it just didn't work. Also couldn't find any link for customer support.

One thing I will say for him though is he gets a good balance of shots and doesn't overly concentrate on genital close ups.

I was a huge fan, and have many titles, but the 'new' DVDs are just re-issued scenes and re-packaged.
The earlier loops had great looking women and a sense it was all good fun, whereas nowadays, there is a strong leaning towards younger looking gals with. as previously stated, a strong anal theme which gets boring after awhile.
However, I'm sure Ben isn't THAT concerned with our misgivings as he churns out more and more re-packaged scenes!!

Switch to Marino's Road Trips................. some cracking scenes that I am sure Ben would LOVE to steal
