STD/HIV Precautions in UK Films

In the U.S., just about every porno shoot requires a recent STD/HIV test from a group called Adult Industry Medicine (AIM), run ostensibly by former smut queen Sharon Mitchell. Whatever you think about it's practices or her dubious "Doctor" status, it exists.

What are the U.K. equivalents to this, if any? Thanks in advance.

Dont knock Sharon Mitchell for the hard work she does in promoting safe working for US performers. Here you have to rely on either the cheap but crowded NHS or the quick, comfortable, expensive private clinics. If the porn industry here was a quarter of the size of the San Fernando Valley's, then maybe we would have something similar to AIM.

There is nothing dubious about Sharon Mitchell's medical qualifications - U.S. Law being what it is - especially Califronian State Law, means she would not be able to practice if there was any question to the validity of her training.

This woman took on both sides of the fence - the State and the Industry - and managed to overcome initial resistence of what she proposed.

Ms. Mitchell was successful in implementing a working model for the monitoring of all types of STD/HIV within the U.S. adult industry.

She has been instrumental in identifying the 'Patient Zero's' in the last couple of outbreaks in the L.A. industry and thus did much in the way of infection protection, ie: damage limitation - if only somebody was so selfless over here!

I for one, respect her, and for you bring into question what she does, strikes me, to be perfectly blunt, as being pretty ignorant of you.

Peace.

The last time I offered my services I was told I would have to wear a full beekeepers outfit.

Just to clarify, Sharon Mitchell has a PhD is Human Sexuality, so although she can call herself Dr, she has no medical training. However, in California, anyone can administer HIV tests.
