I asked to be dropped from the mailing list and I haven't had anyhing since.

Some of the stuff at the back of the catalogue wasn't my bag.

Me too. My girlfriend opened one and it had stuff in the catalogue that was pretty gross. We both enjoy porn, but she didn't believe that I hadn't ordered this stuff and it was a bridge too far for her...which is a first!

Why anyone post catalogues is beyond me anyway. 90% of people must order off the Net.

On the contrary I don't believe they do.

There's alot of people who don't trust the internet with scams and many that don't want their card billed for buying porn in case the missus finds out.

I wouldn't have any stats but when I worked in this biz, the majority ordered by post either by cheque or credit card. That said it is over 5 years since I did so my info maybe a little out of date but I am still in touch with someone that does and I understand this to still be the case.

So mailing a cheque is still they way for many.

Hi,

If Mr Jardon would like to email me direct at support@simplythebestdvd.com, I will personally make sure he is taken off the mailing list.

I must make two points though - firstly we never ignore emails, especially when it is a request to cancel a brochure. Every brochure costs us ?1 to prepare, print and mail, so we have no wish to send them out when they are not wanted. Secondly, we never send unsolicited brochures. Mr Jardon must have bought a dvd from one of our sites to have received a brochure.

On the other excellent point made by Chatterji, Eduardo (as usual) got it exactly right! Believe it or not, we still get 60% of our orders from the brochure and by regular mail. Lots of people do not want a charge appearing on their card statement, and prefer the anonymity of cheques, postal orders, or even cash.

To be fair to Keith and SimplyTheBest I also recently e-mailed to ask to be removed from the mailing list - which they have now done for me.

Got to say, I've never had anything but excellent service fro STB. Prompt, accurate and discreet.

And I'm not linked in any way to the company !!
