advice please - model release forms

Hi all

need a quick bit of advice - a friend of mine has set up her own yahoo group and wants me to take some pics for her. Amatueur pics in the most amateur sense :)

Anyway, she's doing nothing hardcore but has organised another girl to do some wrestling pics. Now she is planning her own website in the future, but these pics are purely for the yahoo group and will only be used there, for no commercial gain.

Should we still get model release forms signed? If so, i know someone posted a link to a pre-prepared one recently, is that ok to use? Any advice grefully received

thanks in advance,
joepub

Strictly speaking model releases aren't necessary under UK law, however they are a requirement under US law. As most sites are hosted in the US, you will find your options (and definately have no chance of selling the content) in the future limited unless you do have a signed release. Another key thing to obtain is copies of official ID, one of which shows a photograph.

Hi

Whatever the reason its always best to use a model release, me & John
were swingers who found ourselves in the industry one day after newspaper & media reports into what we do. You don't start out to make money sometimes but you find that you will get people who will pirate your bits.
We have 10-12 films that we cannot use now simply because we didn't have or used model releases at the time, like yourselves we started out doing it for fun but now wish we had used them. If you need a model release form e-mail me & i'll send you one, good luck & welcome to the industry.

Kim

Hi Kim,

I've also recently started doing amateur glamour photography. I do have "model release forms" but they're on a hard drive that has gone "phut" :-( so unless I can recover them from there I've lost them so could I trouble you to e-mail me one as well please?

Many thanks in advance.
