retirement age?

Recent letters in another place have been discussing the age of a very well known, loved & respected adult star who has reportedly recently retired
" to spend more time with her family", it would seem that the lady in question is 40/41 years of age & I wonder at what age models consider it appropriate to 'retire', do they actually retire or do they move move on to other genres? What events trigger retirement, the realisation that you can't beat the forces of nature or when the phone stops ringing with offers of work?

There are undoubtedly a lot of very attractive women over age 40 who could still make a good living in the mainstream but it must be difficult competing for work with the horde of late teens/early 20 year olds that are about today.

The adult entertainment business is the only profession I know of where you start at the top & work your way downwards.

im speaking from an unqualified position here having never worked in the adult industry but i would guess that the normal employment rules of retiring at 65 do not apply to your average glamour/adult model ;).
flippancy aside i presume that retirement is usually precipitated by a change in personal circumstances of the model. such as getting married pregnancy etc. I would guess that each subsequent retirement has its own set of personal circumstances and each case would be different
hope that makes sense (god thats the longest post ive put on here lol)

Libby is still going strong at 60+ and there are other mature porn models doing just similar, althought they perhaps started much much later than others.

I recall Hustler did a series of pics of the life of a porn model---new girl upward and finally downwards and ending up as Nina Hartley. Not very polite to Ms Hartley, but it was funny.

must say nina hartley is one of those actresses who has got better with age imho.
there seems to be quite a market for the older porn performer nowadays.
must say i enjoyed the scenes in marino's road trip to newport with libby ellis and her friend. they certainly gave the men a good workout. LOL!!!

I seem to remembe a thread on here some months ago about the US category of 'MILFs', and the question of when does a model qualify for the description 'mature'.

As an older reader of messages, there are some models whom I for one would love to see go on and on; and quite a lot of the younger ones who leave me cold and whom I wouldn't worry if I didn't see again.

But then, as people have noted time and again on this forum, it's all a matter of personal preference.
