State of the industry

I am pleased to see that the state of the adult film industry in England is so good, sales must be tremendous and everyone making loads of money. How do I know this you ask? Well maybe you didn?t but anyway? I want some good quality programs to sell on line from an established outlet so I contacted six of the largest distributors advertising in ETO. From the six only one, Hot Rod, have bothered to get back in touch or to send a catalogue or any other info. Well done Martha!
So, if there are any producers out there who have not sold all their product and still want to make a few bob please get in touch, if you?re not all drinking San Miguel on the Costa lot

I posted something similar a few weeks back - there are still at least three distributors and one producer who have yet to bother getting back to me even to tell me piss off small fry

On a similar subject, does anyone know a good distributor or is that an oxymoron! I have around 40 titles which have hardly seen the light of day yet and as I want to retire back to sunny Spain very soon maybe the time is right to do something about them. Private e-mails please.

Yo Rem! It may be a question of time and money. I guess these distributors get loads of e-mails from folks with adult websites trying to earn themselves some beer money, or naive newbies wanting to set up an adult website. The distributors often can't be arsed because they know the enquiry will probably lead nowhere, and if it does turn out that the person of firm enquiring does actually spend some money it will most likely be for 2 of this, 3 three of that, and 1 of those, as the new firm gets those orders in. But the time it takes to administer and service that account will be the same as one where they order 200 of this, 300 hundred of that, oh and just one hundred of those.

It's not just that firms are unwilling and lazy, it's just that they have certain financial on costs (rent, rates, wages, advertising, etc) which means that the time and the service they provide costs a certain amount of money, but if they spend valuable time on firms, persons and activities that do not generate an amount greater than those personal and businesses running costs, then they will end up in deep do do. Which is why I occasionally have to decline a customer who e-mails in desperate to buy a copy of an obscure video that we offered yonks ago. I cannot spend all morning or afternoon (because that is what it would mean) digging it out, running a copy of packing, posting etc Just to earn ?15-20 quid! Just to keep things on the rails I need to generate a minimum of ?100.00 in that period. So reluctantly, I have to decline. Yes, I want their money and business, but unless they are spending serious money I just cannot afford to deal with them.

On the subject of distributors - try Anna Kieran at Hot Rod. She's extremely enthusiastic about the biz, comes from an adult TV background, and as far as my dealings with her are concerned, I've always found her to be down to earth and straight as a dye. However, I doubt whether anyone will be offering anything like the Costa retirement money that you?re hoping for.

Oh, and er, by the way Rem (he clears his throat). Speaking of faffing about and wasting valuable time for a measly few quid - have you dug me those pictures out that I requested earlier today?

That?s the biggest load of cra** I have ever had from you, and that?s saying something.
All I want them to do is put a catalogue in the post; unless they do this they won?t know whether I will be spending ten bob or ten thousand with them. How hard can that be? I would welcome with open arms a customer who wants to take a couple of this and a couple of that, I don?t care how many they take as long as they take them from me.
I appreciate that a man in your financial position can afford to pass by those of us not able to move in the same exalted and glorified company as your good self (this means dinner is on you next week), but speaking as one who over the years has made and spent a tidy penny I still value the little contributions.

No all I want to do is buy good British product to sell alongside my own esteemed programs, maybe no one is producing anything, or maybe they are producing it and keeping it in the hope that with the passage of time it will, like a bottle of good wine, be worth more money. If there are all these amateurs and ?newbies? out there producing masterpieces send them to me, maybe I am mad enough to buy them.
