PCR DNA Shoots

Post by Dan Dares »

Ok, someone explain this to me...just got offered a shoot requiring PCR DNA test etc...cost of tests ?250. Rate of pay for the job ?150.

Means I have to work for free for at least 2 shoots a month just to break even so why bother? I hear all this stuff about not being able to pay the guys more because of budgets...ok so when the guys at the top won't accept ?150 for a shoot and the rest often cant be sure of being able to get enough work each month to justify taking the risk of paying out that sort of money, where are the guys going to come from to do the shoots here? And where are the generation of new male talent going to come from? Perhaps it would be a good idea to start budgetting for the guys to get the same money as the girls if we want to avoid black market style shoots done on the older style certificate basis.

i agree totally not only that but why do we need PCR DNA tests when its proven that its only 1% better than the current tests but twice as much, so all you guys that moan about the cost of shooting dont be surprised if all the rates go up not only for males but also the females.

I will be glad when is up & running, & supply some good information to us.

As an unemployed male on benefits, it's darn hard to get any cash together, so at the moment, my chances of affording the PCR DNA test, to be able to get a chance to work in the industry, is nil :(

I did speak to Phil McC.... about BAIHA, & tests, from a GUM clinic. there are only 2 near here.

1 is about 30ish miles away, & they will NOT allow me to have any form of document, to prove the result of my test.

The 2nd 1 is over a hundred miles away, & to get the test, then get the results will take 2 weeks. that defeats the whole object.
