UK Channels

I have to be honest, even if I get shouted down, and this is not aimed at everybody.
I'm sick and tired of people complaining about hardcore programs on UK channels such as TVX, TAC.
You have to remember the LAW in this country is against Hardcore. It is simple, it's against the law, that's it. I, for one am sick of it. I'm sick of the goverment and all the old farts tell us what you can and can't watch. When you think that most of mainland Europe is far ahead of the UK, it's so sad.
But what are you going to do, cut your subs to the UK channels? March on the House of Commons?
Who is going to put there hand up in public and say they want Hardcore on British TV instead of the crappy T&A you get now.
Most of the channels are trying and some of the contents is not that far off hardcore, and to be honest If it's filmed well, It can be just as good.
Glad I got that off my chest!

Hi Faye,
I can totally understand you, I sometimes see people request for all kinds of stuff on babestation etc. And the models can't do anything. What do people expect.
I have to admit that sometimes I think that everyone involved in the UK Porn Industry is trying there best, and for me, There is nothing better than turning on TVX or TAC and see some Lovely girls (Like yourself Faye
enjoying themselves.
People have to remember it could be a lot worse in this country, you could have nothing, no pin ups, no page 3, and just a bunch of crappy British 70's movies which are a joke.
And for the people who complain, why not just stick to watching bbc, itv, c4 and c5 for a month, I'm sure you would like that!

'I have to be honest... I'm sick and tired of people complaining about hardcore programs on UK channels such as TVX, TAC.

What law?
'But what are you going to do, cut your subs to the UK channels? '
Why not?
'Who is going to put there hand up in public and say they want Hardcore on British TV instead of the crappy T&A you get now.'
Paul Taverner:
'Most of the channels are trying and some of the contents is not that far off hardcore...'
Sentence before it was 'crappy T&A' - remember you're ' sick and tired of people complaining about [the lack of?]hardcore programs on UK channels such as TVX, TAC.'
'I have to admit that sometimes I think that everyone involved in the UK Porn Industry is trying there best....'
How do you think they're trying their best?
'And for the people who complain, why not just stick to watching bbc, itv, c4 and c5 for a month, I'm sure you would like that!'
It's not an either/or choice and we complain because: 'I, for one am sick of it. I'm sick of the goverment and all the old farts tell us what you can and can't watch. When you think that most of mainland Europe is far ahead of the UK, it's so sad.' (Mikie, 11.31)

when I said crappy T&A I was talking about the normal channels and channels like Sky, not TAC and TVX.
I am just am getting a bit sick of other people wanting hardcore and blaming TAC and TVX for not showing it.

Mikie - although I understand what you're driving at, there are a couple of things that you may not have considered.
Firstly, if a channel says something like "we're going to show you hardcore" during their freeview to entice you to subscribe, then doesn't show you hardcore, I'd say you have a right to complain. If that channel can't show hardcore because that's what written in a programme code that the viewer is not aware of, it's misleading for a broadcaster to suggest that they will be showing it (because the broadcaster ought to know the rules).
Second, it's quite obvious that the vast majority of viewers want to see hardcore. I'm sure also, that most adult broadcasters want to be allowed to show it. Are you suggesting that it's entirely up to the viewers to lobby the regulators to change the rules ? Given that the regulators are there primarily to serve the broadcasters, wouldn't you say that the broadcasters ought to be trying to show what their viewers want, rather than simply ripping them off ? (I'm deliberately overstating the case here, just to make my point). We've had adult channels for years now and I've seen absolutely no evidence of them even trying to get the rules changed, so I can understand it when viewers do get angry.

I agree with what you have said Peter. However the situation is more frustrating at present because Tac have shown hardcore but for some reason have now stopped.
They never announced they where going to show hardcore.( Apart from usual over rated ads).
They are not announcing if they are going to show it again.
Very frustrating.
Thanks to Paul Tavener and certain forumites for keeping us up to date.

The more pressure the public help put on the powers that be, the more chance we may have.
I shoot soft and hard as I am sure many other producers do, to A. maximise return on your product, B. to fill all market placements.
I for one would love satalitte to go XXX this would be more profitable for me and although we try to push the boundaries , you can't shoot porn in prison, so is is not worth breaking the law.
Things have moved on and although a little slower than we hoped, I suppose the best we can do is keep producing to the best of our abillities, writing to the powers that be. Unless someone has the cash to take them on in court??? Ben how about you?

Hi Marino, I agree. But who has the money to take them on. Sometimes I think there are bigger powers behind all this, but who?
And how about the statement I once heard in a so called report on sex in tv, "Child could be having an up allnight party and what if they knew the pin number for the sky box"
So who's going to right to who?
an ideas?

Mikie,
I suggest that every one writes to Ofcom next month when they announce their public consultation over broadcasting standards. If you want to complain or make a point about hardcore do it then. They might even suggest it themselves in the draft guidelines. Just write to them when the time comes to show that there are people who suport change.
