i keep seeing brazil mentioned in a lot of these posts about hiv and wondered why this is?is there a big porn industry out there.if there is it seems to be heavily associated with aids/hiv so surely any adult performer going out there must be aware of the risks and cannot complain when they catch something, or is it highly paid out there and people are blinded by the ?/$ signs?

I'm presuming it's the US equivelant of our Eastern European competiton?
I'd never heard about Brazils porn business either till the HIV stuff - would make an interesting docu'.
You fund it i'll film it.

As you may or may not know, Brazil is popular with the US producers because like some African states the economy [for a massive part of the population] is non-existant. The difference being of course is that there are vast amounts of incredibly sexy Brazilian women who need the money, and let's be honest Nigeria [and other countries of that ilk] isn't known for it's cute sexy girl population. Unfortunately some guys still think along the lines of "She was so sexy and good looking how can she have anything?" Add to the mix the fact that Transsexual movies are huge sellers [mainly to straight guys?] and the Brazilian TS's do actually look like gorgeous girls, but with that something extra, as opposed to a bloke in a frock, which is what most of them look like. Most shoots done in Brazil [as far as I'm advised] are for TS movies, which might explain a few things. Then again maybe not!

Hi all , i read with this forum with interest quite frequently while here or abroad. As a male performer who started in the U.K , i feel i should comment on the current situation.
I will keep it short and brief ,as this subject is top of most peoples list at the moment.
The 'Brazil' situation is no diffrent than any other country with an acting sex industry.
The risks are ALWAYS there , and to pinpoint one area doesnt justify anything.
If this happened in France for example , people would say, 'dont shoot there ever again because it's industry is dirty'????.
It boils down to one thing in my opinion.... irresponisibility.
This word can be interpreted lots of ways to the people that matter , but if your smart you will figure it out.It doesnt take a brain surgeon , nor should people assume that every actor / actress that travels to or from places like Brazil havent got there head screwed on and dont take necessary precautions.
Thanx - J.D

And of course Brazil was where John Stagliano - Buttman - contracted HIV from sex with a TS.

And john also publicly admitted exactly how the events unfolded.
Not excusable by any means , but again down to irresponsibility.
I for one have the greatest respect for John , but im sure he knows to well by now , an act of irresponsibilty can dramatically change things.......

Hi,

OK, it is back to "knock the TS" time.

Yes, Stagliano got HIV from a TS but the latest Brazilian incident had nothing to do with a TS.
HIV is rife is Brazil, full stop, regardless of gender.

Sure, the TS world has a higher percentage of HIV (especially in 3rd world countries) than other sexual groupings but it does not mean that ALL transsexuals are an STD minefield.

My AIM test is clean and less than 5 days old. With all probability that means that my STD status is 99% more valid than anyone else on this forum.

Yes, I know, I am in your face and probably also to everyone else that reads this but I am fed up of being categorised as a dirty filthy disease ridden transsexual rather than being judged as an individual.

So, my name is Joanna Jet and I am a responsible professional porn performer who values integrity and who respects the well-being of my peers, and finally, lastly and as a side note, I am a transsexual.

Yes, all of these posts hit a nerve and I have reacted in a manner that is probably considered overboard but you know what? I am fed up to the back teeth with being proven guilty without trial.

Am I being puerile? Well would you dare to say that all blacks are drug dealers, all indians are stupid, all italians are criminals, all Irish are terrorists?
No, of course not. Then why the fuck are you happy to say that I am a walking disease??

What is it that makes me so angry?? It's from knowing that one can only be treated as an individual once it is politically correct to do. Why is it that all minorities must fight to earn civil rights even though the concept never changes, regardless of colour of skin, sexual orientation or religious beliefs?

Fuck, fuck, fuck, why must history have to be repeated yet again in order for me to be accepted for who I am.

Tell me why???? Why is it that in the 21st century, it is still possible for someone in the western world to find themselves affected by prejudice??

Why did the fuck did I bother to write so much personal shit. Like anyone is going to see where I am coming from anyway??

I appear to have hit a raw nerve. Apologies to Joanna who I met at a party recently and we got on well. I was NOT having a go at transsexuals. I was just pointing out that Stagliano contracted HIV in Brazil. I don't believe I inferred that all transsexuals are or were disease-ridden. Perhaps I should have said that John "Buttman" Stagliano contracted HIV in Brazil and left it at that because that is all I meant.

The point I was trying to make was that in Brazil and Africa, the 'street' girls/guys/TS have a high level of infection. I simply meant that in Brazil it's much more tempting than most any other place because they look so sexy as a race. I certainly wouldn't have a go at you Joanna, I think you're a treasure, and I still look forward to doing a movie with you if at all possible. - If you ever decide to come back over to this godforsaken third world piece of shit we call England that is!
