Hello,
I would like to know if it cost anything to set up a cbill account on a site? it is not very well explained on their site.
Do they only charge on the transaction you are doing or there is a initial fee set up?
Thanks
Xav

What might be confusing is that in the US you have to pay $750 up front if you want to take VISA, but that doesn't apply to CCBill Europe clients.
On a small account CCBill charge 16% and hold back another 5% for six months to cover themselves for chargebacks etc. When you set your prices you have to keep an eye on the exchange rate of the dollar, which is pretty bad at present.

I have been using CCBill for 5 years and cannot recommend them highly enough. If you have any queries just email Jeff:
jeffn@ccbill.com and tell him Joe A told you to contact him and he'll give you all the help you need in getting set up with them.
I use Global Charge/Coulomb as a back up processor as they are UK based and accept Switch/Solo debit cards

Do you think it's important to have a back up processor?

A back up processor is very important...
Different processors accept cc's from different countries. They also have different scrubbing methods. When Adult Check had their AC/EGS pay processing my CCBill sales dropped to almost zero as AC accepted card from countries denied by CCBill, IBill, Paycom etc.
In the CCBill set up you can re-direct denied surfers to another page and sending them to another processor gives you a second bite at the apple
So anyone who relies just on one processor for a pay site must be losing a lot of potential sales..
