According to my dodgy maths there are 89 posts to date under this thread, from only 33 contributors.

Could that suggest that there are others out there "assisting ITV Girl with her enquiries"?

After reading some of the replies from Vickie I offered to (as she suggested) talk to her and give our side of the industry (my version of) privately.
She replied to me immediately.
I then made it quite clear that my information and comments would have to be entirely anonymous - as Vickie had previously said would be okay - there would have to be an absolute understanding that I would never appear on camera...

...She has not been in touch since and it's been about a week.

Sorry Vickie but I suspect you are trying to drag people into appearing on camera and then destroying them.
Yes, people are sometimes destroyed after entering the porn industry but all too often it's the 'normal' folk on the outside that tear them to pieces for being sluts, whores and pimps.
Maybe we're not the problem at all.

Maybe because that makes for more entertaining tv Daz. Probably a bit too dull to say we love this business and oh how great it is to be in it (which we all know isnt always the case like any other job)

It has its good days and its bad it just depends which one the tv people catch you on.

Lot's of interesting issues here.

I've worked in porn as a camera operator, stills photographer and editor but have also worked in broadcast TV so I can see both sides of the picture to some extent.

Firstly, there are lots of really nice people in porn, who enjoy their work - just as there are in TV. And I get paid better - and certainly with a lot less hassle! - for many porn jobs than for legitimate jobs.

Nearly all TV coverage of porn has been negative. Someone mentioned Sexetera, but that's made by Playboy TV so is shot from the porn side of the fence. The only other broadly positive example I can think is Porn: A Family Business. It's interesting that British broadcasters are happy to buy these US shows but wouldn't entertain buying a domestic pro-porn programme.

In the climate that everyone expects British TV porn docos to be hatchet jobs, it is unsurprising that the people who come forward to be involved with them are either people unhappy with the industry who *want* to be part of a hatchet job or people who haven't really got started in the industry so are just desperate for the publicity.

The issue people here have with ITV specifically is not to do with PSB. It's that ITV is seen as being the most 'mainstream' channel and thus the most likely to base a show on 'moral majority' Daily Mail type values. A programme commissioned by Channel 4 or BBC3 could be a bit more controversial... but would probably ultimately come down on the negative side anyway!

Finally, the current public view on porn is schizophrenic. At the same time, the softer end is becoming more ubiquitous and less hidden - it seems like every 19 year old girl wants to be in Nuts! - but also legislation is criminalising violent porn.

I so agree with this.
I LOVED 'Porn, A Family Business' and recorded every show I could.
Yeah, Why does every girl want to be in Nuts and yet still look down on photographers they meet.

I am sure their are alot of assholes in this business In fact i know there are, but you get this in any business not just porn.

Just look at how women are treated in jobs in the outside world, its certainly no worse than the porn business.

I'm fairly sure if they took porn off the internet, there'd only be one website left, and it'd be called Bring back the porn!
