Hi William

I have read these posts and answered them here:

The reason I would prefer this topic discussed there is because it involves producers (and a lot of producers wil not respnd here for their own reasons)while you have legitimiate questions your answers are not accurate of what is going on.

I know you wil be thinking this is a ruse to just get you onto UKAP. It is... for a good reason, the main one being that what we have discussed and arranged with the clinics is really for producer and personnel disclosure only. This circular with audio file has been mailshot to most producers ( if you are a legitimate producer I have left out then do let me know. i will require proof of you producing if i do not know of you)

Also I understand that BGAFD admin may not approve of us conducting our affair

s on their turf and have been remonstrated for doing so before as Im sure some of the fans are pissed off about this as well as i understand from a certain other forum who have been in touch this afternoon.

So if you have any questions regarding this then do ask us over at the producers forum, thats what it was set up for...as well as asking us why UK porn is crap too.

Hey we dont mind. Thats what it was set up for...among other things.

Oh and we are not a cartel trying to control a business that is obviously already out of control anyway. ..Well our control anyway.

We'd certainly be wasting our time doing it with you wily lot wouldnt we?

See you on the other side...Hopefully.

Keni, you can be as rude as you like but it won't stop me (as a non performer) from providing some background information on the Data Protection Act, which I hope will assist those considering the merits of this scheme!

DPA Principles state (amongst other things) that Personal Data must be:

- Obtained and processed fairly and lawfully;
- Used only for purposes specified by the data user ;
- Disclosed only to those specified by the data user;
- Adequate, relevant and not excessive;
- Accurate and up to date;
- Held no longer than required for the purposes specified by the data user;
- Accessible to the individual;
- Properly secured from unlawful access and use.

A number of additional conditions apply in respect of "Sensitive personal data" which would include information relating to sexual life, physical or mental health, etc.

If the proposed scheme is operated in accordance with DPA principles, then I would have thought that there's little for performers to be worried about.

But they do need to make up their own minds - in the knowledge that at least 20% of registered data users are believed to knowingly ignore the law.

**TESTING PROCEDURES IN PRAGUE**

Post by Keni »

TESTING PROCEDURES IN PRAGUE.

FAO - Anyone who is interested.

Prague has many laboratories and clinics as we do in UK, however gradually and progressively the number of adult industry used labs in now split exclusively between two very clean and professional labs.

Kartouska Clinic and Safety 1st Clinic.

This natural selection process for the industry was due to the services and reliability of the labs and how they had their services and systems geared up to dealing with adult industry performers health and welfare.

Both labs support an online database system. So between the two labs they essentially have the whole of the Czech adult industry on file.

Both labs are subjected to random government checks and inspections. I believe this state involvement was introduced in the wake of the syphilis outbreak last year which severely crippled the industry out their and most of the main labels locked down and stopped shooting for 3 months because of the ongoing re-infections and the industry having very little or no control methods to cordon the problem.

When you register with either clinic you are asked to supply all your normal details as you would have to with any clinic in the UK. The paper work is then processed and filed as normal. Separately to those forms you also have the option to sign an optional disclaimer to allow your 'results' (not full confidential details, no, just results) to be uploaded to their online database. You are advised that if you are a performer and wish to work with other performers than most performers, agents and directors will ask that you have your results accessible.

Once you have had your bloods, swabs and urine taken and analyzed and the results come back. The labs will then upload your results directly to their system completely independently, nothing to do with you. As well as supply the original lab reports and certificates physically on watermarked, emboss stamped paper and sealed in an envelope for your collection.

The database shows your real name, your date of birth, your patient number / id number and the results of your full STI and HIV test. Nothing more, nothing less.

The database is password protected and as a model you have access to it as do directors and agents. Of course anyone could, if they really wanted to find out the log in details of anyone and browse the database. No need to start a fake production company and pretend to be a budding producer, just ask one of the models for their log in details. However, trust me it really is not a very interesting read. I have looked.

Not even slightly interesting as I really do not care if 'John Smith' passed his test or not? Ok I now know, when he got tested and his date of birth but I can not even say happy birthday to him if I saw him because I don't even know what his stage name is or any more information on him for that matter. The online results database is COMPLETELY different to the actual clinic's medical records of their clients! This fact was apparently not as obvious to many as I assumed.

That is the system in Prague. Nobody is claiming that the database is magically protecting them from catching STI's or HIV. No one can say that it will stop irresponsible behavior off set. No one is saying that having a database will replace the need to take your certs on set with you.

What can they say though? They can turn around and say that FAKE certs are very rare and so easily detected that the database serves as a huge deterrent against any frauds. If you do not have a clean test or your test is out of date then it is so easy to catch you out that you do not find many who would dare take that risk for fear of being black listed and out lawed for their stupidity.

Infections are much easier to trace, track down and inform potentially infected performers. It makes it possible to issue quarantine lists and safe clear dates should large outbreaks occur. Meaning industry wide shut down and retesting can be implemented in serious cases and safe clear dates can be informed to ensure that everyone is health or gets healthy and we can all start work again.

Of course we all wish and hope that there will never be a need for such drastic actions but if there ever was, then without the database and with such fragmented testing facilities in the UK we would be well and truly FUCKED.

The question we need to ask ourselves is does this make it a safer place for us to work and is that important to us?

Keni

Ps. For the record, no I never have expected anyone to answer to me on this subject. I have asked performers if they would like to contribute to the discussion. More to show unity with each other on matters of our health than to be drawn into arguments and defend my opinions. Yes I am opinionated and that is me, I share my opinions, I am also driven and motivated which means I can be a fucking ass hole at times and especially in an argument. However I am not hear to argue, I am hear to try and shed a positive light and educate.

People who know me in person know that I am far from arrogant or up my own ass, I am just passionate about what I do, how I do it and why I do it.

We can all do, say and stick our hooters or dicks where the hell we like. It is a free world. If some people find me arrogant or condescending to read then fine, I can live with that. What I can not live with though is ignorance in health matters that effect us all as performers.

Sometimes people just have to agree to disagree and thats fine with me because I will still fight for what I think is right.

Hi Al, if you read the post you will understand that it is the clinics who will be handling this project all the way.

While I will not dispute their knowledge and lawyers knowledge on this subject i think its fair to assume we are in good hands.

Thanks for the heads up though.

William
no disrespect mate but I produce and perform I get all the models details on the model release form so I am probally ahead of any stalker thet wants to check the database.

Personally I think you are losing track of this thread all Kenni asked for was details of where we get tested as usal the thread has gone off topic

Agree 100% with katie K and Cate I have had top class service from my GUM clinic in the last 18 months they are a great bunch of people there and nothing is to much trouble for them

I am also sure that no address needs to be shown on certs so long as the identifcation used is logged on the cert and produced at the shoot

I'm all for a online database, surly this can only be a benefit to all in the pro industry!

My local G.U. Clinic is Royal Bournemouth Hospital, I get tested ever 3 weeks, my results come back in 3-5 days, I get sent a text telling me my results, then I phone them up and confirm I shall being collecting my written results costing me ?30, all the staff are helpful and respect the fact I'm trying to keep myself and the people I work with healthy, its a shame some G.U. Clinic's are not helpful or will not provide Cert's which brings me to my next point!

I have asked some of the Doctor's why G.U. Clinics charge different fee's for Cert's, ie why is Paddington free? They have answered with saying that each Hospital has a different budget to work with, which seems logical! Could this cause a problem with databases being implemented to NHS networking system, such a thing would surly cost them money? Will they spend such money? Do they have the money to spend in the first place? What if the NHS decide NOT to get involved with the database system due to costs? How will those that don't use a Private Clinics (mainly due to being to far away or costing to much). So my point is could the database system push some performers out of the industry due to the NHS NOT becoming involved with such plans as a online database system??? This seems harsh on those that can't not and will not use private clinics!

Thanks
Jig

PLEASE READ: TESTING INFO FROM UK PERFORMERS 19/11

Post by Keni »

THE INFORMATION I WANT TO PRESENT AT THE MEETING (so far!)

Thank you to all who have contributed.

Please state if you agree, disagree or would like to add any other valid facts or details. Please feel free to post them here, on the UKAP forum or be emailing me direct on the address shown in my profile.

Overall performers prefer their local NHS gum clinic services, location and prices over the private clinic's. Some are so strongly attached to them and will not consider moving clinics.

Most performers have experienced more thorough examination, cultures, urine AND blood samples being tested at NHS gum clinics rather than private clinics as well as more in depth advice and support. Myself included.

However some performers have had unreliable result turn around times as well as having been made to feel like a added hinderance by some NHS staff in some hospitals. Perhaps a unified adult industry approach could ensure that we are recognized as professionals and dealt with in the appropriate manner.

Testing frequency averages from between 14-30 days overall. The turn around for results ranges from 3-14 days. Obviously the faster we can get our results the better.

TESTING DETAILS -

(Monthly tests / Clinic / Location / Price / Testing Method / Results Returned.)

LONDON

2x Medicentre, Victoria, @ ?110. PCR DNA + Cultures - 3-5 day results.
5x St Mary's NHS Hospital, Paddington @ ?0. Cultures - 3-5 day results.
