Maybe it is a bit sad, but it is the case... In fact, Lala and Louiza are almost the only two black girls currently working regularly in the British porn industry, which is a strange thing when you think about it.

The issue of race and porn needs its own thread - it's a big one. I'm glad for example, that the "interracial" niche doesn't really exist in this country, whereas in America (where interracial relationships are still relatively rare), it is still a taboo and so is a popular niche.

Most white British guys have never slept with a black woman (I'd love to know the percentages), so black girls are mysterious and that makes them sexy. I'm a great hater of racism, but pretending we all look and think the same doesn't make sense either, so I don't see anything bad about these two girls promoting themselves as The Two Black Babes, because until someone else joins them, that's what they are.

Don't forget, movie listings sites such as this one don't show box covers. Titles are important, and as with any product, you have to find your niche, especially in such a competitive market as this one. TBH I think that Two Black Babes is much better than some of the titles the Yanks come up with for black porn... you know, the "Gangster Booty Hos" type stuff, which is just moronic, but clearly appeals to the stereotypes of the average white American male.

It would be nice to see a title like "Sexy, Yet Intelligent, College-Educated Girls of African Origin"... then again, perhaps not. !wink!

Business is business isn't it .. isn't it about differentiation in the marketplace in the same way that 'blondes', 'teens' and 'MILF' product is ?

It's good to debate social issues and different points of view, but on one level 'it's all about the Benjamins' and 'two black babes' is merely a way of identifying the product.

Can't fully agree with that - there are many responses that aren't acceptable, such as violence, racial abuse, etc. - it would be better if everyone either expressed support or walked away - that way, we'd end up with a more free society where everyone gets to to their own thing.

The impression I got was that the girls found the woman's intervention amusing rather than upsetting. The fact that she was outnumbered by maybe 200:1 made it OK. I'd bet good money that she wasa religious type, and unfortunately religion is at the root of a lot of censorship these days.

Hopefully we're moving towards a world where naked dancing, chocolate jesuses and cartoons of Mohammed don't upset people... but clearly there's some way to go.

Thank you for that very logical and rational analysis. Personally, I do find it extremely interesting that the use of 'blondes', 'teens', 'Milfs' etc proceeds as a matter of course and and yet when two 'black' girls use that word to describe themselves, people seem to be making some sort of protective, politically correct attempt at criticising them for it.

In addition to the points made by SB regarding marketing etc, one of the ideas behind Louiza's own production company is to actually design and produce porn that may appeal to black people living in the UK, in the same way that companies like 'West Coast Promotions' do in the states..i.e by using black models in their productions. Words such as 'Ebony' etc are used relentlessly to promote this type of material and obviously in the UK, there are very few Producers attempting to target that market...

Let's not kid ourselves and think that black people are any different and don't like watching porn, it's just that they might find it rather boring watching blondes, brunettes and white studs constantly. As such, the descriptive term 'Two Black Babes' is applied to define and market a specific product that, in all honesty sits outside current mainstream marketing strategies.

This is turning into quite an amazing debate in itself, I must say and let's remember something...

If 'Two Black Babes' had not tested the moral waters of Birmingham, this debate would not exist.

Yes and the most amazing thing is that it was all started by another porn model who has herself starred in 'flashing' videos, completly starkers close to very busy moving traffic and even did a wee-wee on the street in daytime in the same film! And it was in Birmingham too!

You can see it on one of Strictly Broadband's posts here, I think!
