Hey,
We are currently discussing this very subject with KazB.
A secure online site where producers and other performers can Log in and check the status / validity of any performers certs.
As I have mentioned to Kaz only this morning, if enough people are interested I would be prepared to set this up.
Any one can use the service FOC - providing the certs were done at Clinic Express of course!

Let me know what you think.

How much are you charging for a test and more so how many clinics have you got on board around the country?
We were on the brink of doing this last December and we had a lot more show of hands but failed to launch mainly because not many people were willing to pay the cost of the test which may well be the reason behind why some are faking their tests.

very good idea and me and my partner would both be up for this, however you have no clinics any where near us so we would not be able to do this via your self's.

fake certs / Online Certs

Hi
We are a private Sexual Health Clinic in Bristol. We are not associate with the NHS or any of the other private clinics in London. So for now it would be just Clinic Express that would do the secure system itself for its clients.
Our Adult performer STD certs are ?125 and we do full blood tests for HIV, Syphilis and Hep B. Urine Sample (male) or LVS (Lower Vaginal Swab) for woman for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. all results are usually within 24 hours (if you come in before 4pm)
Please take a look at our website for more details:

Any suggestions for the online certs scheme would be appreciated? I would consider setting up a system that would link all private clinics and possibly the NHS certs to a central database, but at the moment there are too many people that don?t want to pay for tests. At the end of the day we are a private clinic and a business.

UKAP have been on this already Chris but if you make any headway with the performers we are quite happy to endorse it as standard but this time I think its down to the performers themselves to show interest as they are the ones that will make this work.
We also understand fully that the sytem you will have in place will not contravene data protection laws (before anyone brings that back up)

We were talking to our doctor at Clacton GUM clinic which is a part of Colchester hospital, they are setting up the Maple centre which should spread to other districts. They do full tests for around ?40 a time which may go up to ?50 by the time its in full swing. As a NHS dept they have full access to your normal records they know what illnesses you have had so there is no getting away with telling porkies if you have had medicines which could mask your certs, John as been on Tamiflu & was due a Hep B boost & was told today he as to wait another 5 days before this is possible. This maple centre could change a lot of things when its in place as its not a profit making organisation so they simply refuse to do a test on you if they think some thing is not right, would a private clinic be so concerned as they are there to make money?
The maple centre will have its own data base & will help escorts, adult workers & other high risk people and give out leaflets, free condoms & talk about how to reduce risks etc for a reasonable cost. if other clinics reduced their charges people would use them but most charge silly money compared to NHS Hospitals.

Make it happen Kim is all I can say.
It will take those who are actually in the frontline to be pro active on this as I dont think it is taken serious if producers try to tackle it.
Do it and we'll support you and help make it a standard.
The only way i see it falling flat on its face as it did last December is the cost.
?40 or ?50 seems very reasonable to me, especially since the cost dicslosed to us by the labs alone was about ?65.

Hi Terry
A data base accessed by us (the industry) will never happen as there are to many people putting it down for reasons only known to them.
With clinics charging high prices they will only attract the big earners, most people we know don't get that much work that they can spend hundreds of pounds on certs each month .
Hospitals want to record std's in the adult film & escort industries (both high risk jobs) so they can give better advice & help to these people, their details will be as they are now on a data base but not for us to access because of data protection.
As hospitals are none profit making their ways are different to private clinics & we have been shocked that some private clinics don't explain details that could void some peoples certs.
You can advise people Terry but they twist & turn it to suit themselves & the situations around them, we help our local clinic because it helps us & lots of others, we have no wish to influence others on here to what we think is right or wrong because who listens anyway.
At our NHS hospital you get 2 full tests (including mouth/anal swaps etc) for free every 3 months, if you want 3 tests in 3 months e.g. monthly tests they charge ?120 which works out at ?40 a month. If we advice people to go for tests where do you think we send them? 4 people on here already are going to use this service as its only difference to private clinics is that it takes a week to get your certs.
We will carry on handing out leaflets to kids in nightclubs & condoms etc from mobile units to escorts etc because we believe it helps, the Pro industry is not ready for any help at present by you, me or anyone else because it believes its sorted. If we can be of any help we will but its like pissing into the wind i'm afraid.

What about the Swine Flu

Will performers be so honest if they think they have the swine flu or would they risk giving it to a fellow performer just so they can earn some money, so how many of yopu have had a bit of a cough or a cold in the past but have carried on working ?
