Have to disagree with you on some points there because I personally have an active belief system. The assumption that just because I am involved with this industry that I have abandoned any form of acceptable morality is alien to me.
I continually stress the point that there is more morality in this industry than most others... different moralities but nevertheless definite moralities.
Religions may well be failed by the frailties of their respective followers but nevertheless most of them do attempt some direction on a life of morality.
Porn is resplendent with obvious immorality but look at banking - moral, upstanding and a great job to talk about down the golf club. But banks are arms traders, keep the third-world in debt and starving, put families on the streets when they don't have to, charge us an arm and a leg for bugger all and after grabbing free cash from the public purse for making a complete bollocks of their job they give each other massive bonuses.
How the hell do they sleep at night?
Porn is a bloody picnic compared to banking and I'm proud to say that I'm reasonably moral and in porn!

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
i have to agree with everyone who KNOWS the industry, vicky your knocking on silent doors huni, isnt there some chavs you havent screened on JK yet? as dont think you will get any self respecting adult actors up on that stage
Hi there Jools Brook,
I understand where you're coming from and appreciate why. Porn does get a bad press and suspicion is natural especially from established actors who are rather battle weary with press intrusion but I thought I'd reply anyway.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who've yet to make an appearance on JK!! Ha ha
Just for the record though, I don't work for the normal programme so there would be no stage involved. It would be a documentary style thing and we'd come to people rather than vice versa.
Anyway, thanks for the tips and take care of yourself.
All the best,
Vickie

!laugh! I admire your tenacity, Vickie. Most TV documentary people who pop up on here disappear after the first onslaught!

Re: never trust ITV
Well said Heidi, i couldnt have put it better myself. I dont tell a lot of people what i do because i know that it changes people's optinions of me and whilst in the vast majority of cases i couldnt care less, i do care if it impinges on my family or friends. They should not be subjected to society's wrath because of how i choose to make my money.
I have a younger sister who tells me she was bullied at school (she is now in her twenties) because someone found photos of me on the internet or in a magazine. As well as having a negative effect on our relationship, it just goes to show that this negative attitude towards porn isn't going to end anytime soon. People supposedly have a lot more sexual freedom and are more open about sex now so how come younger generations are still of the opinion that the porn industry is shameful and anyone connected with it must have something wrong with them? Yet use of porn (amongst young and old) is probably increasing with the vast amount readily available and free nowadays. There is somthing amiss in a society who think it is acceptable to use porn as a sex aid but not acceptable to work in that industry.
I wholeheartedly agree with Heidi's theory that envy is the root cause to a lot of peoples' prejudice and guilt comes a close second.

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
"Also, I'm aware that not everyone that works in Porn has had bad experiences previous to or during their Porn career but, the majority (NOT ALL) of people we've spoken to who've exited the industry do tend to have a rather negative view of it.
I would have to hear or see those views to see what you mean by that statement ?
I'm not being funny here but could you explain to me why this is? Are they liars? Have they had a twisted experience? Why do you think people enter the industry, why do they get out??
Well it depends on who you are talking about again exactly but it is a very cold, harsh business. In my experince most get out because the illusion of it doesn't live up to what happens to them and/or they are simply rejected by it. A bit like TV life, Music biz and Film biz.
Contact me privately and I'll explain.

"Thanks for your reply and offer to film the doc. for us. To be entirely honest, I'm sure we would get further with an indusry insider but unfortunately, I'm afraid it's just not on the cards."
Why what are you and your bosses scared of ? A programme that might tell the truth and be an honest potrayal of folk working hard to earn a crust in a biz that just happens to involve - fucking ?

Re: ITV - GETTING INTO PORN DOCUMENTARY
No Dave, it's not that anyone's scared, it's just that we're totally crewed up for this with ITV staff and already have a producer/director. This process is done before we start developing stuff.
If a place comes free I'll mention it to the boss man eh?
As aforementioned, thanks for the offer.

Re: Wish people would stop calling Brit Porn an Industry.
For Bicycle Bum:
Delayed reaction I know but Ive been busy the last couple days:
This is definitely an industry by definition when you consider there are many professional producers. (I counted over 70+ production companies!) Between them they all spend money on photographic and video equipment and employ many models from who you know about to those you know nothing about.
In fact I would say a lot of companies dont know about the BGAFD or what is going on in the business at large and are probably content without it as i was many years ago when I sold my movies out of the back of my car before being dragged kicking and screaming into it.
Im still told occasionally that companies shoot product and dont see tests or take ids and releases and we are not talking regular amateurs looking for a leg over either. These are people who book guys and girls to do shoots and who appear to be professionals.
